Jrue is pretty much what he is going to be in the NBA. Good player/good trade, but his development is nearly done. 4 years into the league players rarely make a dramatic jump. Not saying it isn't possible, but let's not pretend he is raw.

Coming into his 5th year, his production will likely jump a little bit, but this trade is about getting the most value at #6.

Great trade by the Pels as Jrue would be better than anyone at #6.

It's a culture only prevalent on the boards. People obsess over draftees for months then shite their pants when we trade the pick. Awesome trade.

he can refine his jumper a little bit

but CJ, who many wanted, doesn't have much room to grow either b/c he's only a year younger

one big issue is usage. collins didn't really have a jrue-friendly system

My only complaint with Jrue is that he doesn't get to the free throw line enough.

And the Pelicans as a team don't get to the line enough.

ETA: Jrue was 23rd among PGs in FTA per game last year, the Pelicans were 26th in FTA per game last year as a team

The difference is Jrue Holiday has been a professional basketball player with unlimited practice time with pro coaches for 4 years. CJ has yet to receive that. He's been capped on practice for his college career.

As a casual observer of the Pelicans and the NBA in general, this trade is a fricking steal.

Way more long term impact than the Nets-Celts trade.

Assume he's capped

I'd take a capped 17 and 8, all star, all night and twice on Sunday's for two picks.
