So who starts Saturday?
Same XI with Poldi and santi on the wings? Gibbo at LB?
Based on what Wenger said in his presser about everybody from the Norwich game being available for the final, I would think those guys have to be in the 11 based on current form.
I'm of the belief we should play our strongest starting 11 in this game, no matter what the lineup has looked like in the previous cup games.
I know Fabianski has been absolutely brilliant, but if Szczesny is our No. 1 choice, he should be playing. I know Sanogo has started all of the other FA Cup games, but c'mon, Giroud is the one who will actually score a goal. And I think it is absurd the chirping you hear now about sitting Sagna because he's made it pretty clear he will be off in the summer. Like Wenger said today, I think Sagna is a great professional and will give it everything he's got to win his first trophy with Arsenal, even if this is his last game.
Saying all that, I think we have to go with the following 11 to start the game.
Szczesny
Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs
Arteta, Ramsey
Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski
Giroud
Bench: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Monreal, Flamini, Rosicky, Wilshere, Sanogo.
I know Ox joined full training today, so I guess it's possible he would be available too. If Vermaelen is healthy enough, I would have him in instead of Jenkinson. Wenger said he won't know for sure on Vermaelen's availability until tomorrow or Friday.

Agree with that 100 percent. My heart wants Diaby on the bench; head says otherwise.

fab will start. it'd be nice to include KK since he was part of us winning.

I'm not sure about that.

I don't think Fab will start. That's why he started the Norwich game, bc it'll be his last in an arsenal shirt and wenger wanted to give him a league run out as a show of appreciation. Wenger has a history of reverting to first team goalkeepers in cup finals. Not to mention he hasn't given Fab runouts before our other FA cup games and its worked, so why would he change that now at the expense of Szczesny's Golden Gloves?

AW saying that he has no problem with starting fabianski and sagna saturday is a hint in the pro-Fab side (the Times somehow took that to means he is starting them). that he started last week and AW hasn't committed to starting him (despite the fact he's been our domestic cup GK this season) rubs the other way.
i honestly don't care which of them starts. it would be fair and sentimental to give him the start, but it's a cup final so that doesn't matter. they've both been very even this year IMO. not sure there's a huge difference between the two at this point.

Doesn't matter who starts, we must play well and finish some first half chances. Hull is going to play well, we need to play great.
I'm so ready to see Mikel hoist the Cup..

I'm excited about Rosicky raising a trophy before anyone else. They still have to win it, I'm getting really nervous.

Fabianski will definitely start. he wasn't given a pointless game as a consilation prize, it was merely to give him a little more game time with the team before the most important game of the season.

A lot of the arsenal bloggers/writers disagree but we'll see I guess. It doesn't really matter they've performed pretty equally when called upon

Sagna just went on my donesos list. Honestly think we should start jenkinson in the FA cup final. Going to a title rival is much different than riding off into the subset in France or turkey for one last big payday

Is he even going to start over zabaleta? I guess zabs could play LB too.

Sagna can play CB very effectively as well.
This just RUINED my day.

he's been one of my favorite players for the last few seasons, just really a very classy and talented player.

i can't be too upset. mainly because i love him and he stayed loyal to us for a lot longer than he should have. but i won't lie that it stings a bit. we shouldn't have dallied around with his extension.
