well, not to split hairs, but they aren't reporting it. just writing what I posted earlier about the guy from sky saying it's a done deal. guess we'll see.
cwil, you might search twitter for santi vs city vids. generally a good source.

Sweet, thanks. Didn't realize twitter would be a good resource for vids.

most of those guys pimp their game comps pretty hard after matches. @CulannDavies is a good one to follow. he does really good vids and often RTs vids.

Haven't seen anybody post this yet, but below is a highlight reel of Josip Drmic from this Bundesliga season. The rest of his team must be absolute crap if they are fighting relegation. Either way, he seems like he could be a great addition to our strike force, if he's not the only player Wenger brings in. And for 8 million pounds could be an absolute steal at that price, if accurate.

When some of you get a chance to watch this video, can you honestly say that Olivier Giroud can do anything like this guy? He's an immediate upgrade on what we have already. I understand it's just a 6-minute clip of highlights and actually watching full games would allow for better scouting of his overall talent, but my goodness this guy appears to have very good technical ability that would work well with the type of midfield we have, along with speed with ability to run at and by defenders with an without the ball. He also shoots with both feet with accuracy from anywhere in and around the box.
That's exactly the type of player we need to give our squad the necessary depth going through next season.

There was a section of the Man City game between the 53rd and 61st minutes where we broke down City three times, all in wonderful fashions. Absolutely brilliant team play. fricking annoying we can't do that consistently against good teams.

Drmic looks like a stud. Would love to have him, especially at that price.
BTW, anyone else think we should run a 4-4-2? Our wings pinch in and our width is made through our outside backs anyway so having a diamond formation could suit us, I think. It would make us more potent up top. Honestly Giroud is pretty impotent without a runner around him and I think having someone else up top would greatly improve our attack. Obviously the drawback would be only having one man in front of the back four.

with ozil that was pretty much what we were running a lot of the time, at least when we did not have possession (though we're quite fluid obviously). i think the more rigid 4-2-3-1 we have been using the past two matches suits us better, at least against tougher opposition. when ozil and rambo return the 442/4132 we were utilizing works for me. unfortunately, that could still be awhile.

I'm really not a fan of Giroud up top by himself if Walcott's not on the field to open up space, facilitate runs, etc. Or Ramsey for that matter but I think Walcott was even more important for that. Giroud as the single striker is decent with that type of personnel but he's not going to create anything for himself.

Just saw that Sky Germany was saying that Drmic's wife was looking for houses in London and he's not even married

All of the BS of transfer season gets old ... a lot of hear-say

The original story was there was woman looking for houses in London on Drmic's behalf. It was assumed that was a significant other and so now it's snowballed into wife in some circles. But it could just be gf, could be a relative, could just be some sort of an agent or manager. Or could all just be one big false rumor

As with all tactical considerations, it depends.
My hopes are that we buy smart, get healthy, and are able to have tactical variation in match.
We have so many tactically flexible players -- Ramsey, Ox, and Jack can all play anywhere in the midfield. Ozil can play a narrow right or a true No. 10. So can Santi. Walcott can play wide or down the center.
If we buy Ramsey a capable partner and upgrade Giroud, we'll be able to play fluidly.

just fyi, Dan Crowley is back from injury. bossed the U18s match against Blackburn. every bit as intriguing and talented a prospect as Zelalem.

Unclassic commentary with Per and Santi
Hilarious. They provide commentary for the Fulham game in which Santi scored 2. You need a free account to see it though.

Just so we don't drop off first page. How pissed will y'all be if Man U wins the CL and knocks us out?
Posted on 4/2/14 at 1:03 am to dgnx6
No chance that will happen. But, to play the game, I'd be so fricking pissed. That kind of stuff only happens to Tottenham.
Posted on 4/2/14 at 1:10 am to glassman
Yeah I don't see it happening, but it has given my man u friends some life. They think it could happen.
