My wife saw a snake today but didn't take a picture

She said it was black with yellow rings all the way down the body. I've shown her every picture I can think of. It was a small snake about 2 feet or so.
I shown her a ring neck, coral, king, ribbon/ gardner and all sorts of non native snakes. Any ideas or other sub species of these that it could be? We are in southwest LA and it was in the blackberry bush.

Not poisonous w that marking, king like the other guy said.
They are mild and eat Copperheads and other snakes.
