Superman with Chris reeve has its good points

Honestly...very few in my opinion.

Reeves is obviously perfectly cast...though in 2013 we'd all expect/need him to severely hit the weights before donning the cape. But he could not have possibly looked more like we'd all want Superman to look like.

Most everyone else is pretty terrible. Even as a kid I wondered WTF Supes saw in Margot Kidder's Lois Lane. Gene Hackman is awesome, but his take on Lex is horrible...though that's more to do with the straight up goofy comic book feel Donner was going for than his ability to play it differently. Either way, in 2013 it plays way past silly. And of course, the FX are laughable...from his pod leaving Krypton being obviously hoisted through the ceiling on a string and banging into it on the way out to the disco 70's space scenes, etc.

As iconic as Christopher Reeves is/was as Superman, no superhero franchise is in more of need of a revamp as is Superman. It's more overdue than Batman was in 1989 after the Adam West iteration was the last thing people had seen of the Dark Knight.

I think the DC Online Trailer should be the basis for the Justice League movie.

I like seeing Supes pissed off.

I'm not sure what it is but I'm not feeling any real excitement for this movie. Maybe it's the influx of reboots the past few years. That said, I fully expect it to be very good, and plan to see it, but just not feeling any real noteworthy anticipation for it. Maybe just me. Meh!

If you can't get excited for this movie after all the previews we've seen and articles we've read, well then....

chris reeve was the actual height of supes tho. 6'4. he needed to buff up though. chris reeve is one of the best castings in suphero cinema. man of steel will be boss though superman 2'battles were pretty cheesy. Superman alspo has one of the best orgin stories. The destruction of krypton is sad and pa kent's speech is awesome. It only needs the journey clark takes all over the world

In the comics, it generally accepted and understood that Superman is about 6'5 or 6'4.

Henry Cavill is about 6'1 so that's small to medium down jump in terms of inches. I don't mind it though.

I'm looking forward to it but my fear is that it could be a little too over the top. Superman might have more depth and be more real as a character in this movie, but I hope it isn't just some big CGI fest with spaceships and such. Superman Returns was so boring that I'm afraid that they'll head to the other side of the spectrum here.

Not sure whether to really expect a good movie, but I can tell you the long preview I saw before Star Trek last weekend gave me full body goosebumps like nothing I can remember since LOTR.

Trailer is AWESOME.

Same here, I like superman but I am afraid they won't get him done right...I guess Superman Return made me wary of him. Poor brandon Routh. He was a pretty good superman.

HOwever the villian was a joke and the threat was also a joke. The biggest action sequence for Superman Return was the airplane... we knew something like that was no problem for Superman.

It's about high time we get a real villain in Zod and people that could push superman to the limits.

As for why I am not excited... I think it's the trailer.

The first trailer showed him just wanting to be a man not a super man. I can get on board that, in fact I thought that was a nice angle.

The Second trailer killed it for me by having Costner hug superboy and going "Of course you always will be" The dumbest question was "Can I still pretend to be your son?"

That scene when they showed it in the trailer was so out of context it made the whole thing look stupid. It also seem cheesy viewed by itself which dampen my enthusiasm.

Then the third trailers Amy Adams was asking why an S on his chest and supe was all like "On my planet it means hope." ...Right... That just seem preachy. Then they tried to insert a little clever scene that go "Well I think I'll call you sup- oh look timely interruption."

However, the latest trailer with the whole "You are not alone" and that hot girl kicking obvious arse with Zod smashing up everything...

Can't wait! This movie had a great team working on it, and should have high expectations.

Now if the JL ideas could be scrapped for a World's Finest, we are in business for real.
