The SEC mandates the amount of lower bowl seats you have to give to the visitors. Some give more than others but it's up to the visiting school to allocate those seats. Unless you are a big wig donor, important with the university, or in the band, you are not going to see these seats.

UF gave us legit seats when I was a student at lsu. We sat like 2 rows behind LSU's bench.

SEC rule that some visitor seats have to be lower bowl. I'm not sure of the exact number, maybe 1500.

UF gives LSU the seats and then they can do what they want with them. LSU gave you good seats

FLorida still has those seats for visitors. Similar to the ones LSU gives to visitors down the sidelines. Florida's are a little better since the stands are slightly elevated and row 1 isn't actually on the ground.

I've had good visiting seats as a student, but getting tickets through my grandfather's season tickets has been a crap shoot.

He won't buy into TAF because he figures his 50-60 years of holding season tickets should be good enough.

I can't say I blame him, but sometimes you have to play the game.

Giving visiting fans that many seats in the lower bowl started off as a gentleman's agreement with bama according to what Joe Dean always had to say bout it. We each agreed to give each other 10K seats & that went on for bout 5 yrs. Then, out of the blue, bama only gave LSU 6K seats one yr & LSU of course reciprocated. And that number has remained pretty constant over the yrs, tho it has obviously dropped below 6K now. The sideline seats behind the visiting team's bench will remain the same, but then those are horrible seats to view a game from.

Auburn lets us sit in their lower end zone. Any other SEC team? It's a blimp ride.

You are correct. I think that the SEC mandates that each school set aside around 7,000 total seats for visitors, of which approximately 1,500 must be located in the lower deck. I've noticed that over the years there have been fewer and fewer visitors in the SEZ, so I think this has been a gradual process. Once the new south upper deck opens, it should make a big difference. Hopefully, LSU will give visiting fans the minimum number of lower bowl seats and ship the rest to the nether regions of the stadium.

At Georgia they gave us a part of one section in the corner of the endzone in 2005. The rest of us were herded up to the 3rd deck in the upper reaches of space.

It's still that way. Almost the entire 3rd deck is filled with visiting fans, but you're so far removed from the action that you don't feel like you're even in the same building as the game.

I know in bama and auburn the visitors section was in the lower bowl.....last time I went to auburn it was in the end zone ,but that was 10 years ago.....07 was my last bama trip and we sat by the band (gbftl) in the lower around the 5 yard line if I remember right.....but I would love to see the visiting fans out of the bowl in ts...

It's "do unto others, as you would have them do unto you"

It's crappy what other schools, especially Florida, do to the majority if visiting fans. I've always taken pride that LSU has been more respectful of visitors.

So are we giving the entire new south upper deck to the visiting team? I think I read somewhere that the south upper deck will hold 1,500 people and that is the amount they are saying will be relocated.
