That will easily get him a contract.

At that speed, it comes down to hitting your spots and movement on his fastball. Wish him the best

What about his nasty slider? Hope he's still got it.

he was low 90s with that fastball a few years back. i guess some of that loss in velocity can be attributed to not having full power in his push off leg.

Location is key for every pitcher. 89 isnt important, nor is it dominant. I hope he makes it, but i doubt it

That's extremely impressive velocity for someone who was what, 3-4 years out of baseball? It wasn't like he was throwing mid 90s before. It seemed he usually sat in 90-92ish range.

Would like to see him with the Rays. There isn't a better organization at developing pitchers.

His velocity should increase as he gets more into baseball shape. And he's a lefty which makes him much more valuable.

He's also a lefty with great athleticism. Chances he makes the big leagues is rare, but he can hang around in professional baseball for a long time as a lefty specialist out the pen to get a lefty at the plate out with that sweeping hook he has.

He'll never be ready in time.

He could probably get that fastball into the lower 90s. That, being a lefty as many people mentioned, and if he has good location and control, he could see himself in an MLB bullpen for a solid number of years
