I have way too much of an active imagination to tolerate scary movies. I am a grown arse man and still freak myself out in the dark.
Jaws was brutal too. As soon as I put my foot in the ocean I hear that theme music.

Just curious Sup, why Exorcist 3 and not the original?
FTR I am Catholic
the blood tears from the statues, the nurse walking on all fours on the ceiling, the child with the crown of thorns and the empty eye sockets all freaked me out

Oh haha I get it. You said bro a lot to make fun of me for saying bro. Not my fault you picked a silent movie, of which anyone born since the 1940s shouldnt be scared. But bro, very retro of you.

Good job, you just visually spoiled the single most surprising scene in just about any movie that's ever been made. There should be an award given out for shite like this.

The Exorcist. Been a few years since I've seen it and I don't know if I have it in me to ever see it again though I'd consider it a great film. Those other horror movies don't scare me unless it's mental/psychological horror films based in reality but this one goes even further for me.
Being a Christian, it was terrifying to see a man of faith lose his faith during that encounter with the demon and kill himself. That part terrified me more so than the demon. That movie alone was enough to get me to read the whole Bible.
BTW, Karras didn't simply "Kill Himself" at the end of the movie. He martyed himself and sacrificed his own life to save Regan. According to orthodox demonology, once a demon leaves its host, it may not return to that same host. He provoked the demon (Pazuzu) to enter himself and then threw himself out the window, knowing that committing suicide with the demon inside himself would essentially free Regan and end the Exorcism.

it scarred me. to this day I cannot look at a gremlin. if i see it come on TV even for a second I have to turn away. I hate them.
Also the Excorcist was just incredibly scary. Poltegeist was pretty scary as a young kid as well.

still have never seen the exorcist all the way through
BTW, Campbells Split Pea Soup with a little Crystals Hot Sauce and some oyster crackers is some good stuff.

Interesting. I guess I never made the connection or I just perceived it that the demon made him kill himself. Definitely does add a different view to it. I guess I was too disturbed to make the connection.
Also question for the board. Are the Exorcist sequels worth watching after original? W/o spoilers were they following the same demon or same characters from the first?

I watched The Grudge last night. i like that type of jerky movement from the curse but i think they showed too much of it. the scene with the sister working late in her office bldg was great.
