I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most movies with little creepy kids are at the top of 98 percent of our lists. lol

Omen, exorcist, shinning, children of the corn, the ring.

Children are just creepy man. I got three, I know.

And to further the "creepy kid" stuff, I was flipping channels yesterday and noticed Case 39 was on. That one kind of got to me too. I watched it the same weekend as Insidious a few years ago, so it got lost in the shuffle, but I was thoroughly reminded yesterday that kid demons scare the absolute frick out of me.

I guess some of what made The Exorcist so great/scary-

1 the demon isn't given a plot or motive, or reduced to some ghost of a former serial killer, or something like that. No scheme to defeat, etc. And there is no made-up way you can beat it.

2 those damn "look right into the camera lens" images. that's where the nightmares come from; you get a flashback and that fricking thing is looking right into your eyes.

A lot of devil movies, even thoughtful ones, seem to give you some way you can win (just like lots of alien invaders movies give you some hope to defeat them). The Exorcist leaves you with the thought "please just don't notice me", because if it did, that's your arse.

I forget the name of this movie, but there was some flick from the 70's where there was a single mother and her kid in a house at night, during a storm/power outage. And the kid started doing things to try to kill her, and you never got a look at the kid (but you could hear the kid's voice talking to "mommy", throughout the movie).

At the end, mom was hurt on the top of a staircase balcony, and the kid was coming up the stairs, talking to her. As the kid came out of the shadows it was this little child-sized demon talking with the kid's voice, with a white face and these blacked-out eyes (kinda like the face from the Ring); just fricking creepy. messed with my head for years.
