Dump the cap and institute full revenue sharing across the board and that can be mitigated.
If they start counting teams' local TV contracts into that revenue, we'll talk.
The TV contracts that teams like the Lake Show and Knicks have are insane and gives them a greater margin for error when overpaying for talent.

Give Seattle an expansion team and send New Orleans back to the Eastern Conference.

That's too logical for NBA owners.

I guess Seattle has deer in the area right?
Cause that's the franchise heading west fwiw

If they go for an expansion honestly they should go by +6. One new team for each division.
Southeast = Move Memphis to here.
Southwest = + Albuquerque and Kansas City (or Saint Louis)
Northwest = + Seattle
Pacific = + Vancouver
Central + Columbus (or Saint Louis)
Atlantic = + Montreal

If anything I could see Bennett pushing for Seattle to get the Kings to get all those idiots off his back.

I absolutely want to count local TV contracts into that.
No real point in having a cap if teams with big arse TV deals can circumvent it.

How many freaking teams do you want to add to a watered down NBA?

What is a reasonable number of teams to have before quality of play falls off dramatically?
See, that's the thing. If the NBA would lift the amount (500K, I believe) they allow teams to pay to buy/buyout overseas contracts, the depth of the league would improve to support two more teams and then some. Seattle, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Las Vegas would be strong NBA markets.

Or the Dallas Stars.
Gagliardi has to be sick to his stomach right about now.
I don't think Gagliardi has ever intended to relocate the Stars.

They have no fan base in Dallas. I go to games and 30-40% of the fans are wearing the other teams' gear. You can't sustain a franchise with that lack of support.
Gagliardi knew he couldn't do what Phoenix did and spout off at the mouth, or else the NHL would put the squash on it.

I think the NBA did the right thing. Sacramento has been a good market for the team for most of the last 25 years. They had a group that wanted to keep the team in its location, and I feel that the default should always be to keep a team where it is.
Clearly Seattle got screwed with the move to OKC, but that doesn't mean the right move now is to screw Sacramento.

Do the Kings still play in that 'temporary' building they occupied when they moved into Sacramento?

The move will be the bucks
NBA doesn't want to expand because they don't want another cut of the tv money

The Seattle group released a statement. They aren't giving up. LINK
quote:
While we are disappointed with the relocation committee’s recommendation, we just wanted to let you all know that we remain fully committed to seeing this transaction through. As you are all well aware, we have a binding transaction to purchase the Kings for what would be a record price for an NBA franchise, have one of the best ownership groups ever assembled to purchase a professional sports team in the US, have clearly demonstrated that we have a much more solid Arena plan, have offered a much higher price than the yet to be finalized Sacramento Group, and have placed all of the funds to close the transaction into escrow. As such, we plan to unequivocally state our case for both relocation and our plan to move forward with the transaction to the league and owners at the upcoming Board of Governor’s Meeting in Mid-May.
When we started this process everyone thought it was impossible. While this represents yet another obstacle to achieving our goal, I just wanted to reassure all of you that we have numerous options at our disposal and have absolutely no plans to give up. Impossible is nothing but a state of mind.
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ?Muhammad Ali

Don't think they can delay the sale that long. The Maloofs want their money.
