I really hope the Sharks beat the Kings, I'll say in 7.

And is there any question who the much better goaltender is? I loved how a bunch of Caps fans whipped out Holtby's ''better'' playoff statistics from a much smaller sample size.
I think everyone said Lundqvist is the better goalie. But are you trying to say Holtby did not have a great series and has not shown he's been a terrific playoff goalie? When the finger pointing starts, Holtby is probably the last guy who gets criticized by anyone. He had a lousy Game 7, but he was great for 6 games. That puts him ahead of pretty much everyone else on the roster.
Holtby matched Lundqvist for six games. Lundqvist is only the best goalie on earth, ecept maybe Quick. I fail to see how that is worthy of criticism. I mean, I know you;re trolling, but geez. Up your game a little.

Christ, way to read too much into my post.
Holtby is a fantastic goalie, but the way Caps fans were posting up these comparison stats made it seem as if they thought Holtby is better or on the same level as Lundqvist.
So no, I'm not trolling, I think Holtby is a damn good goalie, but I thought it was pretty questionable by Caps fans posting Holtby's small sample size postseason stats and comparing them to Lundqvist's.
That's all. *shrugs*

Love the way we're playing right now

I think he's played equal to Lundqvist for two straight series, so I think the comparison is valid. And since no one argued Holtby was better than Lundqvist, the only place you're going is a bridge outside of Trollville. Even you admit Holtby was excellent, just as he was last postseason. He and Lundqvist WERE equals. So the comparison is... wait for it... completely valid and borne out by events.
Holtby had a lousy Game 7, but he clearly was not the issue in this series. and he was just as good as Lundqvist this year and the last. And Lundqvist was flat out awesome in this series.

I loved watching these two in the regular season battle it out, I can only imagine the playoff meeting will be so much more entertaining.

where does tonight land on the "biggest choke jobs ever" scale. 1 being it wasnt a choke, and 10 being boston in 2010

It was 2010 Iron Bowl bad.

No way in hell that was a choke last night,Leafs went down 3-1 took 2 games including in Boston, won at home and had OT against a Stanley Cup winning team that has had what 4 or 5 game 7s in the last 2 years? Proud Papa over here, Leafs are young and will only get better, If I were Boston I'd be a bit worried about my window closing, and maybe the refs getting tired of their goonish bullshite...

Wow what a series. Awesome to hear the HEN-RIK chant in the Verizon center.
Man I was so wrong about Ovechkin - the stats don't show it but he played with real heart this series and was solid on D and not the cherry picker I saw in previous years.
You can make the argument that Holtby was Hank's equal. You can say Washington had a better O that Hank had to face but the Rangers had a better D. They both played awesome? Do we need to make a decision between miss Sweden and miss Argentina can't they both be hot?
Anyways I loved that Zuke scored last night - he is a midget, can't skate for shite but has a nose for the net and can score. Torts doesn't like playing him so it's good to see him earn his ice time. I guess he's kind of fricked now since iron mike is the same type of coach and is now running the show at Zuke's KHL team

Lets just say the events of last night were difficult for the majority of intelligent hockey fans on this board As Mikey says though I do like Detroit and Chicago for different reasons (family in Michigan) and (Step Dad in La. is a big fan of Chicago)so life will go on...besides the future belongs to my Leafs...

I feel for you man - I can't stand Boston and can't believe they came back. Now you will be hit with a steady dose of Ottawa bandwagon fans in Canada yapping until the pens eliminate them :(

Before this year's series, the longest scoring drought Ovie had ever had in the playoffs was two games, and it had happened precisely once. The Rangers held him to 0 points in the final four games, doubling his longest playoff scoreless streak in his career. There, in a nutshell, is the difference of the series. The Rangers top pair gets a lot of credit for that.
And Lundqvist posted a higher save percentage in Games 5-7 than Halak did in 2010. I think the defense in front of him was much, much better than Halak's, but still.... that is an epic performance. King Henry won this series. He kept the Rangers in it until the offense arrived. He did not allow a regulation goal at even strength past Game Four. And he allowed zero goals in the final 120 minutes of the series.
The most impressive non-goalie was Brassard. He was everywhere. Scoring big goals, delivering big hits, and always being in the right place at the right time. Hell of a series by that guy.
Congrats to the Rangers. Beat Boston.
