Decent places near Le Pavillon?

Posted by FLIPofthecoin on 5/24/13 at 8:55 am
Headed to Le Pavillon this weekend, and I'm looking for any decent places within walking distance, since I'll have 3 kids with me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
I like Mason's but if you don't get there prior to 9:30 then you'll have a 1-2 hour wait, no doubt.

Beausoleil would be my choice.

Have you been to the Galatoire's in BR? It's pretty bad.
There are a few places that are much better than the ones he mentioned, but he said those are his options.

Damn, most of those choices suck.

Of those, I'd narrow it down to Ruffino's, Zea's, or J.Alexanders.

If I had to pick one, Ruffino's.
Whew... nice to have a little breathing room...
Couldn't have 2 more evenly-matched teams. Tough, tough series.
I have had Liuzza's before and didn't think it was anything special.

Nice review. Looking forward to trying it myself.
Going to be down there this weekend and I want to try a few different top places... what are your choices as best? Parkway? R&O? Parasol?

The food you're eating isn't Greek, it's Lebanese. The only place in town that will be serving Greek is Zorba's, which opened today on Essen.
I went a few weeks ago and enjoyed it... only thing I didn't care for is their "white chocolate" pecan pie... apparently they were out of white chocolate so they substituted coconut cream w/o telling me :yack:

I also agree that the portions seemed smaller... I got the "large" thin catfish plate and it was the amount of what used to be the "small" catfish plate.

As mentioned by others, the softshell crabs and flounder are best bets.
Glad you enjoyed it
Pears with the mayo & shredded cheddar on top is served at the Crystal Grill in Greenwood, MS. I always get it with my meal as my side dish. It's actually very good, despite the way it sounds.

Every time I see Grapeheads/Appleheads/Cherryheads, it reminds me of these...

These were my favorite candies as a kid. Used to buy them for 10 cents a box. Then Ferrara Pan went and changed the names and packaging, and because of that, they just don't taste the same anymore. :wah:
You and me both, brother
staying at Caribe in July so I'll be at Cobalt every day :nana:
