Ej was a huge reach. I don't understand. Bills knew that no one 10-32 wanted a qb why not try to trade down even more

This was what made the pick terrible. He may turn out great but they could have gotten him and additional free picks.

I think that when we look back in 5 years the second round picks from this years draft will end up being better than the first round picks.

I agree and I include Travis Fredricks in those 2nd round picks.

I think some of the OL guys will be solid players but just won't get talked about much because its OL

There won't be a bunch of standouts that everyone talk about from the first round. Like luck RG3 etc

Winner on day one? I have to be a homer and pick my Minnesota Vikings. Floyd was a steal and Rhodes was a good pick. Picking up Patterson was icing on the cake. I give them an A+.

Vikings and Rams both had strong days

Pittsburgh got a gift with Jarvis Jones. He's going to flourish in that system

They paid way too much for Patterson. It was a GLARING need though.

Floyd and Rhodes sitting back in the 20s is fricking lights out though.

Vikings & Rams have to be the forsure winners in Round 1. I'd say both Carolina & Ravens picks were both good as well even tho they only had 1 each today Star Lotulelei & Matt Elam will both be really good players when it's all said and done.

Where are people getting this BS? The Vikings actually got a good deal. According to the chart, the Patriots pick was worth 640 points. We gave up:
380 for the 52nd pick
175 for the 83rd
54 for the 120th
6 for the 7th round pick
We gave up a total of 615. We gained a pick worth 640.

You mind linking the chart?

I'm opinionated perhaps because I think Patterson is a bust candidate. That said, I liked the Vikings draft as a whole.

But... it would have been better to sit tight and wait IMO on WR.

It's a pretty universal chart used by most NFL GM's.

LINK

Peterson was rated by almost everyone as being better than the 29th pick. The Vikings will use him much like they did Harvin: As a kick returner, on bubble screens, and getting him in open space so he can use his running ability.

Thanks for the link.

I know it's pretty much the Jimmy Johnson chart, just didn't have link for it.

I think the Vikings had a solid first round and good luck.
