Just want something local... That being the main thing.
Getting some good ideas, will definitely look at getting a drink at that bar... Flight out isn't until 11.

If you go to China Town you'll find a few Asian places that are really good.

RG lounge crab (a bourdain pick) is really good, can't remember the name of the other great place we went unfortunately.

For lunch the ferry building has some solid little shops in it with cured meats, cheese and wine if u want to do something casual

Found it to be pretentious, expensive, and served small portions. I'd suggest Foreign Cinema over A16. I second House of Prime Rib, ambience better elsewhere if you're looking for fun, but it serves delicious Prime Rib that's for sure. For lunch, might want to check out Swan's Oyster Depot on Polk. I've never been, but have heard good things and the line is out the door on the weekends. Mama's in North Beach is a good brunch spot too, but you have to get there early because of the wait. I'll reiterate though, Ad Hoc is the best place of all IMO and if you're in Napa, I strongly suggest you dine there.

Pretentious? It's a neighborhood restaurant serving Calabrian cuisine, there's nothing pretentious about it. The most expensive item on the menu is a ribeye for $30, it's not expensive, especially for SF.

ETA: having said all that, if you want a restaurant in that group, SPQR in the Fillmore is very good. I had the pasta tasting menu there last year and it was among, if not the best meal(s) I had in '12. It's a tiny space though.

Slanted Door is a bit overrated but the food is still solid. Its not my go to place. I prefer cheap Vietnamese near old man park in Chinatown. 10 mins from my work.

For drinks I'd highly recommend Tunnel Top bar. They muddle fresh fruit for all of there mojito's.

For Chinese food in the burger joint price range try Brandy Hos.

For Italian try the stinking rose

I think you're right and I confused A16 with SPQR. I'm all for fine dining, but we managed to rack up a $200 bill on the numerous small plates we ordered and it still wasn't lots of food and was good, but not amazing. A lot more bang for your buck can be found elsewhere imo.
