2nd, the Cat monologue was necessary to create conversation about Jon's mother.
It also reminded the audience about bastards and brought up the possibility of legitimizing bastards for Ramsay down the road.

Good point. Even though Cat didn't ask Ned to do that with Jon, it does set a precedent.
One of the interesting deviations from the book in the episode to me was Jojen's conversation with Bran when he says Howland didn't discuss the war with him and Meera. I guess that means no Jon parentage/Tower of Joy discussion from the Reeds in the tv series at least.
Kinda makes Bran discovering Jon's parentage by using his tree power more likely I guess. Hopefully they keep the knight of the laughing tree story in the tv series somewhere though.

Is anybody else worried about Shae's character not developing like in the book so Tyrion will kill Tywin?
Or will there just be another "something" that will spark it?

You worried that Tywin won't be banging Shae?
Nah, at this point it seems like it's on the right path.

I think it'll work out alright. I already had a coworker this morning say to me, "I really like that Shae girl. She seems to really care about Tyrion".
I have to resist the urge to be like SHE'S A GODDAMNED BACK STABBING HARLOT IS WHAT SHE IS!!11!!1

Great episode, everything was spot on. I didn't have a problem with Cat's speech and actually really liked how the brought up Jon' mother, the only important point missing from season 1.
I see that some people are upset with the way Ramsay looks but I thought he had the perfect look since he's supposed to be Reek. I assume once he's revealed as the Bastard he'll have the evil look. One question though, we're the people torturing Theon, his former men? I haven't rewatched season 2 so I don't know if I was supposed to recognize someone.
Regarding Sansa's wedding, which will definitely happen soon, I think it would a good occasion to play the rains of castamere, explain its meaning, and keep it fresh in non-readers minds.
If they keep this up, this will be a fantastic season!

It seems Shae's character is more of the "good guys" side. In the book she was just Tyrion's and didn't have a pronounced role like in the show.

I see what you mean. I just took it as a way to keep her in the forefront of the audience's mind. Also making the Tywin/Shae reveal as devastating and shocking as it was in the book.

Exactly. They will make you like her so much, that this will be like taking Ned's head and shite.

That's what I think as well. It'll be full on mindblown when it happens.

Is Jaime's hand going to go the way of Tyrion's nose? They would have to CGI that in every episode. Or intro the Gold Hand sooner.

The hand definitely goes. I can't find the pics, but there were some shots that leaked from filming of this season at one point that showed him "without" a hand.

Tyrion losing his nose and Jamie losing his hand are not the same. They have to lose Jamie's hand. Its the beginning of his revival.

I don't think they will have to CGI him sans hand, there are all kinds of tricks to pull that off.

I liked a lot of things about last night's episode.
I thought the scene with Cat was excellent and helps you really sympathize with her character. If they find a way to make the audience like her, then episode 9 will be just that much more satisfying.
I loved the introduction of The Bastard. He is introduced in such an nonthreatening manner that heads will explode once his true intentions are revealed.
I wish they would have included the Bloody Mummers in the show, but oh well. I'm more pissed about the exclusion of Belwas.
Also, I can't remember who brought this up about the Sansa/Tyrion marriage, but if I rememeber correctly, the wedding is pretty much a surprise to Sansa right before the ceremony. I could be wrong, though.

"Serious question"
Since i read the first and about half of the second book, But i watched every episode.
Would it be safe to read the Third book? Or do i need to finish the second book?

i'm looking forward to the purple wedding more than the red wedding because of all the good shite that it sets in motion. the red wedding is just fricking depressing
