Just Got Back From Jurassic Park 3D

Saw it on the IMAX and my God it was awesome. The Rex breakout scene and raptor scenes were 100 times better since it was on a big screen. This movie was clearly made to be watched in theaters and now I see why. The 3D was pretty good too, I mean Avatar level 3D. The entire theater shook when the Rex broke out and I saw some girl and her friend nearly piss themselves when the raptor tried to get Ellie.
Definitely worth the money and will see again in theaters.

Yea, I might go see this on some real IMAX. My damn mom keeps having me bring her to the place in Slidell where they just have a bigger screen and turn the volume louder.

Took my nine year-old son tonight. It was the first time I ever let him watch it. He was impressed, and I felt like I did in '93 when I saw it for the first time.

Saw it tonight as well. I was 4 when it came out the first time in theaters, mom wouldn't let me see it then. Even though I've seen it 10 times, if you've never seen it in theaters, it's worth it.

That's when it originally came out. Scared the shite out of my 8 year old arse.
Also saw the Mario Bros movie the same day...

I saw it tonight. Unlike most people here, I didn't get to see it when it was in theaters in 1993. The most I ever saw of it on the big screen was getting a peek at the credits as we were filing out of Rookie of the Year or some bullshite that we decided to see that day.
So needless to say, special moment for me today. It wasn't so much about the 3D, although it was pretty awesome. The T-Rex breakout scene is just so much more powerful when it's lifesize right there in front of you. I noticed several things that I hadn't ever noticed before despite seeing the film so many times. Things derailed around the Raptors in the Kitchen scene when some man children decided to play musical chairs next to me with all of the grace of the Incredible Hulk inside a crystalline antique store (I don't mind changing seats, I do mind not even trying to avoid disturbing others). But, overall a pleasing experience.
frick Nedry.

One of the better signs being held up I've seen at a football game was at Florida Field: "Your arse Kicked Park" with the movie promo photo in the background.

Amazing how well it stands up 20 years later... man that makes me feel old. Jurassic Park was my first PG-13 movie, so its dear to me.

Yep. This was the dawn of CGI really. In fact, when the group first arrives at the welcome center and are walking up the stairs, the following exchange takes place:
Dr. Ellie Sattler: So, what are you thinking?
Dr. Alan Grant: We're out of a job.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Don't you mean extinct?
That exchange was actually written in regarding the changing of the guard from puppets and stop-motion animation to CGI.

Yeah it makes me feel old too. I remember my little league coach bringing us to go see it (I was 12) when it came out after we had won a tournament.
Epic movie for the time for sure.
Though I would also really really want to see Terminator 2 re-released in 3d as well.
Those two movies were the best films of the early 90's for me.
