Roster spots are at a premium on the def. side of the ball to me this year Rabbit.
WR corp not so much.
Put it this way I think Moss would garner more attention running down field from the safeties of frisco and atlanta than Dev would and that helps everyone else. JMO. I don't like or hate Moss. And if he wants to try and COMPETE for a WR spot at near vet minimum it wouldn't bother me in the least. CSP is not just going to give the guy a roster spot.

I'm dumbfounded by the number of folks who think Moss is any sort of benefit for the Saints when roster spots are at a premium.
yeah...our dozens of mediocre arse players really make it hard to take a look at someone who could upgrade our offense for the veteran minimum.

Is he an upgrade over Devery? The answer is the same as whether we should sign him.
sure

Randy Moss is the LAST thing this team needs. He quit in the Super Bowl. Cancer in the lockerroom. Give me a break.

The 2013 version of Randy Moss, however, looks nothing like any of that. The glorified prep rankings that helped carry him through his first 13 seasons are long since irrelevant. No longer able to outrun every cornerback or outleap every safety, Moss has, by necessity, become a sly veteran, using his wiles as much as his physical gifts to extract yardage and the occasional score from limited playing time this season. Although he totaled only 434 yards and three touchdowns in two starts this season, he offered not a negative word about his usage, or Coach Jim Harbaugh’s system, onto the record. It runs far deeper than that, however. It might have been difficult to predict when the 49ers signed Moss in March after he sat out the 2011 season, but he has become an undisputed leader on what may be the N.F.L.’s best team. “A lot has been made about Randy being a certain way, but he’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever had — that any of us has ever had,” said wide receiver Kyle Williams, whose season ended with a knee injury in November. “The emergence of Michael Crabtree isn’t by accident. He’s learned a lot from Randy.” Crabtree, in his fourth season, is putting up the kinds of numbers people expected when he was taken with the 10th overall selection in the 2009 draft: 1,105 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, plus 119 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over the Packers. “Randy is one of the reasons that Crabtree has really developed this year,” safety Donte Whitner said.

Smith, who's playing in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe this week, was asked about the offseason additions. He didn't hide his excitement. "He's been a blast on the field and off the field," Smith told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport regarding Moss. "Great guy, great teammate, catches everything, makes you look good as a quarterback, so it's been great." That was the hope when the team signed Moss so … so far, so good on that front.

CSB. Be more vague next time.
Randy moss won't be a saint. Per my sources

"Randy, when he first got here, he coached me up on some routes, how to position myself when catching deep balls and jump after the ball," Davis said. "He's definitely been a leader." Davis feels fortunate that he didn't have to wait as long as Moss for his first trip to a Super Bowl. But there were surely times that he wondered.

I wanted him last year, and I'd still welcome him this year.

this may have been stated already but the last couple of teams that signed moss probably shouldnt have. or was it that he made a less intelligent decision in thinking he would have much impact. any wr that runs routs for brees and payton will wow. its a prereq to be able to do it. all knowledgeable saints fan should know this by now. wr is the one pos that we dont use plug ins or make desperate moves.

This. He's still a deep threat. He can still play. I like the idea of bringing him in.

Would absolutely love this move.
I'm lukewarm to it, he hasn't really been worth a shite in his last few stops. Better than devery? Obviously
I'm just not big on aging deep threats who are losing their elite speed.

I just think he'd be better than Deverey and would definitely require more attention thus opening things up for our other guys. Even if he's a 900k dollar decoy he'd be well worth it. Plus like some of those links show, I think he'd actually be a really good teacher for Graham and Morgan

if he's here, once he sees those passes coming his way, he'll get and stay hyped. he has an ego and being a wr on this team will make him a monster.

I'd love to see us sign him.
