Just had lunch brought to me from their deli...That's some of the nastiest crap that I've ever had for lunch, and the other 2 coworkers agreed.
It's a cool looking place, but if you put a piece of fricking deli meat between 2 pieces of bread and it tastes like shite, and your rice tastes like grits, than wow.

Skillet must be out of his mind. Closest deli food to Whole Paycheck that I have found. Unbelievable

Had a couple of slices of cake from there that were about the same as what you'd get from Winn-Dixie or Albertson's (actually, Albertson's bakery is probably better).
That was disappointing, I must say. Definitely a step back from places it's trying to be comparable to, like WF or a Central Market type place.
That's the thing about WF that makes it stand out to me. It isn't just the selection, it's the execution. I love the asian counter, some argue the pizza is the best in town, the soups to me are the best in town when you consider the variety of types you can get (at three spots in the store -- the salad bar, the seafood counter and by the barbecue stand), the barbeque is above average in this market, the salad bar is second to none in the area, the cheese selection is the best in town, the wine selection is good ... the quality is good across the board.
If you are going to try to be a local WF, you better be looking at stepping up your game in every specialty department and not just putting out typical grocery store stuff on a prettier package. So far, it strikes me as "A" for presentation, "C" for actual product quality.

I've had their fried chicken twice. Love it.
Their rice dressing sucks. Their mac and cheese is pretty damn good, and their black eyed peas weren't bad either.
I'm currently eating some sushi from there. Shrimp and Crab Crunchy Roll. It's pretty damn good.
I haven't had a sandwich from there. I can always go home and make a sandwich. But i think there are some on here who are eternal pessimists. Some of you hate on it, because everyone else likes it, just to be different.
I highly doubt that anyone, including myself, can say whether or not it is above average or below, at this point in time. It's brand new. But from my experience between their plate lunches, sushi, produce, and meat. They have been well above average. And i believe i've been to the place more than a few of you, that are hating on it just because it's the "cool new place" to hate on.
