Should be a nice second half of 2020 on the tech side for everyone. 4th Gen Ryzen is going to sell like crazy in a few months with Intel having nothing and it being a big leap forward. I think we'll see the best sales of Ryzen yet.

Kind of disappointed in the Ryzen 3rd gen XT announcements, hopefully they are discounted heavily right away:

3900XT - $500
3800XT - $400
3600XT - $250

I can get a 3900X for $400 right now, a 3800X for $310 and a 3600 for $160 (or 3600X for $190). With mild clock speed bumps, those XT versions are way overpriced unless they can finally overclock very well or something. They are only 100-200mhz bumps in clocks from current X versions. Not that it matters for most people, but the 3800XT and 3900XT do not come with coolers, so AMD saved some money there for sure. If these were all $50 lower, AMD would sell them like hot cakes till 4th gen came along.

100-200 bumps but probably throttle weirdly to stay within the power envelope.

My 3900X is a strange beast.

Yeah will be interesting to see how it maintains clocks while gaming, I see a 3900x in benchmarks usually only do about 4.2ghz while gaming. Maybe if the new 3900XT can hold 4.7ghz (or even 4.5ghz), that'd be pretty sweet.

I seat around 4.3 with boost during loading at 4.5/4.6. I'm under water with a custom loop, keeping me below 50C under load. I know temps effects boosts big time.

Edt: When is release date?

No way the 3900XT holds boost 500MHz higher than the 3900X. If that is the case, I will change the chip out. But don't think they are advertising that, just 100-200MHz higher clocks.

Yeah 500MHz isn't gonna happen. Maybe 300 on the best binned?

I'd just wait until September at this point, not like it's far away. I never understood this refresh with 4th Gen so close to begin with. I guess just to frick with Intel so I'm okay with it.

Updated to the 2H20 update, and I must say, the new chromium based Edge is a total replacement to Chrome. And it looks exactly like it too.

Imports everything from chrome including themes, extensions, bookmarks, passwords.

Half the ram resources, while also being faster.

Think I will full time switch.

maybe a little but not worth a CPU upgrade for a midrange gpu.
I wouldn’t consider a 2070 that mid range. It’s pretty much right in par with 1080ti in terms of performance. I’m gonna play it by ear and if I don’t see a CPU upgrade necessary or worth it, I won’t do it. The calculator I used showed about 8% bottlenecking from the CPU at 4.8 and about 24% at 4.2.

Idk what kind of bottlenecking there will be on a game like Warzone but I’ll monitor my CPU load and compare it to what it is now with my 1060.

I remember the noise from my 290s made me quit mmining until I got some 7870 Tahitis and 7870 Ghz editions for mining.

I've been debating on whether I should build a PC to transition from the original PS4 to have better framerate while playing FPS and finally decided to pull the trigger. The PC components have been extremely hard to find in stock, but my local MicroCenter had a bunch of stuff come in today and I decided to go for it.

Wasn't sure what to get for the GPU. Originally thought about the 1660S, but didn't think that was going to be enough of an improvement or future proofed. Settled on the 2060 KO Ultra, but it wasn't in stock so I had to upgrade a bit....
