What's y'all preference as far as benchmark software?
And what type of pc optimization can I look into?
I just went through an SSD optimization list to speed up my Intel 730 series

This is what we benched with when we had our competitions.
Overclocking is how you boost performance, if you have an intel chip there are usually presets that you can used in the bios. It adds heat and fans noise the higher you get though. Video cards are a little harder as you have to manually play with the settings. Someone else will have better input on OCing I am a novice at it.

Do those lists still tell people to disable the pagefile? If so, don't listen to it.

Putting the card under water too, right? I believe there's an EK block for the Gigabyte 970.

So much for cable management. Yikes.

my desk setup looks 10 times worse. I've wanted to reorganize it for a long time, but I just get lazy. It would be a huge task.

Still have to take it all back loose to sleeve the psu wires and install radiators and water blocks. Just wanted to play some games. Will clean it all up when I get the rest of the goodies.

Yeah I'm going to use the ek block but I'm gonna make a custom backplate out of acrylic with the gigabyte eye lit up in Red

Damn, pretty fancy for a first gaming build. What's the rest of your loop going to have?

Got the last pieces of the puzzle in last night:
Before:
After:
I really like this case, it hides the power supply and storage

So what happened with the 6 pack?

Figured might as well go all in. Haven't made up my mind on everything just yet I just know I'm going to do a 360mm radiator on top and a 240mm on bottom. Still trying to decide on one Red loop our two separate loops. One Red, one white to keep with my theme.

Two loops for two components would be a bit much; you could always get red and white opaque tubing in one loop. I generally don't recommend using dyes or colored coolant for loops. I know it looks fancy, but regular distilled water (with maybe a small additive like water wetter) performs just as well or better and is much more convenient to work with.
A little heavy on the radiator quantity/capacity for two components as well, unless you might be going SLI. Even still, I have two 980s and a 4770K with two 360mm radiators, and I know for sure I could easily eliminate one radiator. Maxwell is stupid-easy to cool. Prior to that I had two 290s which benefit a little more from the extra rad capacity. What pump are you going to use?

Is it bad that I only noticed the parts and not the beer?

Tomorrow, my case finally comes in. Tomorrow, I build. Tomorrow night, I game like its 1999.

Thoughts?
Looks good to me. The whole "may have dead pixels" warning always scares me, but reviews are favorable in that regard. I just know I'd be the unlucky bastard to get one with a single dead pixel in the center of the screen, which is why I went out of my way to get a "perfect pixel" model when I bought my QNIX.
