Coyote, what podcasts do you recommend? You listen on your phone?

Ok - finished install and ran IntelBurnTest
Stress Levels up to Very High saw temps of 63 max (core 1 only) then quickly dropped to the 60 / 59 range
Stress Levels at maximum saw temps jump to 67 (core one and package) then dropped to 63 and then hovered around 64 / 65.. does this seem good?

I don't know about intel burn test but if that's your max temp with prime 95 then that would be good. It's probably about the same.

from what I can tell Prime 95 doesn't even make my CPU break a sweat.. 54 was the max on it's test.
(I meant 54, not 58)

You have your USB ports wired wrong somehow, Lew.

I'm confused. I thought he was talking about the USB ports in the back. If it's the headers, then probably something is amiss with the connections.
Also, the keyboard works with all ports, but the mouse does not?

It's my mother board ports. My keyboard works with all of them. My mouse worked at first. It wasn't perfect, but it worked. Now it won't light up. It works with my Mac. No issues there. It does say USB device not recognized though (PC).

also you for the link earlier, I knew I was going to be on my cell phone and my cell phone sucks balls at my house, so I ended up having to just install the dang thing without a video.. because I don't have a "spare" computer to just look up the video on.. it's all good though, as you can tell my temps are great
P.S: seeing as you don't really know me to well, I'm kidding about the whole google thing, I do that crap to people all the time, I just happened to have a legit reason for asking this time. (I was on the road, was going home where I could only use my phone.. was kinda a bad situation)

I'm up and not busy at the moment, and I could help you troubleshoot. Just too much hassle to go back and forth on a message board. Skype and Steam: StephenP85

Lew doesn't Skype unless there's nudity involved

We just had a sexy skype session.
ETA: His G500 is most likely defective. It does not initialize at all. After the troubleshooting session, here are the facts:
1. G510 keyboard works in all USB ports.
2. Verified that the mouse had been tested in both USB 2.0 as well as 3.0 ports
3. G500 previously worked in his laptop and inexplicably quit working. Same symptom with his desktop, sounds like intermittent failure, followed by a possible total failure. It's a signature symptom of that mouse, unfortunately. The one I have has always worked great, but apparently they have some serious QC issues.
4. Other USB devices (such as his portable hard drive) work. This also confirmed that his onboard USB headers were working.
5. Tried a cold boot (unplugging PSU cable, letting the capacitors discharge, then starting it back up). Mouse still did not work.
6. Confirmed that legacy USB support was enabled for both 2.0 and 3.0 in the bios. Had him disable both to see if there was a conflict between the two logitech input devices (it's an old school trick that I didn't expect to work, but it was kind of a final-nail-in-the-coffin thing).
I don't think we missed anything other than the obvious "try another mouse" (which he will do tomorrow when he gets one from work).
