wouldn't it be Alien? How far before Alien is Prometheus?

I don't think there is any way to know.

Did anyone save the original Alien: Engineers script that is referenced in the link? I went to the link on Scribd and it was deleted.

There are plenty steps in between prometheus and alien.

I hope it is. That movie was aweful. When I saw I didn't know it was a prequel to Alien. If someone hadn't told me I would have never known.

The last scene was a dead giveaway.

I find that hard to believe.

The entire scenery/Space Jockey cockpit scene/Facehugger/Deacon Alien at the end didn't give you a clue?

To be honest I don't remember the end. I guess I was zoned out by that point cause first two hours were so bad. I'll just get out of this thread since I obviously don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm with you.

Not sure why prometheus gets so much hate in the first place...other than it's the cool thing to do.

Absolutely.

I saw it at the IMAX twice and I was blown away each time.

I need to see it again before I can probably make an intelligent argument either way for loving it or hating it.

But from what I remember, my biggest complaint was wondering why they didn't just connect a few dots to make it a direct prequel to Alien. They had the space jockey in the ship, and everything looked identical to what was found in the original Alien, and everything seemed to be set up to lead into the original movie, but they weren't on the same planet, right?

Why go to the trouble of setting all of that up, and then change a few key details so it can't connect to the original Alien? I guess I didn't understand that creative decision.

It didn't need to be a direct prequel for me to enjoy it, but it seems like they tried really hard to make it connect with the original film, and then made some simple unnecessary changes to make sure that it didn't actually connect

Wow man reading that article just solidifies my bewilderment and anger at how Prometheus turned out. As the article states, the potential was great for it to seamlessly connect to Scott's Alien but instead it turned into a convoluted mess that now is unraveling into trash. What a waste!!!

I thought in Alien it was a crashed ship and the aliens spread from there. The original aliens were human alien hybrids.
