Quick question regarding Mr John's

We have a group going to NO for Crescent City Classic, several in the party would like to try Mr. Johns. I was hoping the experts here could give me a few recommendations from their experiences.
Will the women enjoy the Filet?
I have seen the strip and the bone-in recommended once on here for healthy men eaters. Any sort of dress code?
Go to desserts?
Thanks in advance!

Do you have reservations yet?
Not sure what this means.

If ur friends can't find something they like on the menu, find new friends. LOL. Last time I checked, all women that are normal like filets.
They have some pretty good Italian food too. For dress, no coat and tie required. Don't show up in jeans and t-shirts

If you asking if the filet is good, the answer is yes.

Yeah! What does that mean????

Thanks for the replies! After reading my post again it's plain to see the filet question was slightly retarded, please excuse me.
Yes reservation has been made for Thursday night. I'm looking forward to the experience, hope it's as good as advertised.
We had same group last year at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse and tried Royal House on Friday night. The Brennan's experience was pretty damn solid. I will be skipping any re-visit to Royal House...think I would prefer a Lucky Dog honestly.

Mr. Johns is the best steakhouse in the city, IMO. U will enjoy.
I never eat desserts tho.... But do dig the Pork Belly App.

Your party sound like big steak fans, I would also suggest Chop House in the CBD next time.
I'm sure you will enjoy Mr. John's though.
I'm curious, how often are "steak fans" disappointed at steak houses? I rarely choose steak houses but when I go I am hardly ever disappointed. It's just not my first preference.

I rarely eat steak but always enjoy Mr. Johns. The Italian is really good (better than anything in BR). I think I got crabcakes last time I was there.

Why not? Last time I went a in Feb of this year, they had lots of people in jeans and t-shirts. They even had a guy in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

That is no way to dine. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should!
If you want to wear t-shirts and jeans, you can eat at Slice right down the street.

I agree. If people dress too far down in the wrong place, even if it's allowed by management, they stand out like a rube sore thumb and distracting to the other diners who are, rightfully, snickering.

I was in slacks and a button up. My wife was in a dress. We were in the minority as far as our attire.

People were probably snickering at you for being dressed like snobs in a relatively casual restaurant, and rightfully so.

Snob? WTF do you wear a snuggie? Sounds like he was dressed like he gives a shite, too bad for everyone else if they don't. Your response makes me not want to go there. Everyone seems to give a shite at a place like La Boca...

I didn't get snickered at though. I love Mr. John's. The atmosphere is perfect for me. You can hold a conversation without feeling like you should whisper. I can't wait to go back.

Wow, lighten up a bit before you have a heart attack!
I was just giving my brother some shite. And if my joke to him makes you not want to eat at a restaurant (one I've never been to) then you might have some issues.

Well when you make a dumb arse statement you get a dumb arse response

This is disturbing. I can't imagine any steakhouse having that lax a dress code. I certainly don't want to be surrounded by a bunch of children in t-shirts. I've never been to Mr. John's and it certainly doens't make me want to run over there and try it.
I hope that isn't the usual clientele at Mr. John's.
Slacks and button up is the minimal standard at most steakhouses, not the "snob level".IMHO
