Good Lord our state government is monumentally stupid.

I am confused....LSU doesn't already offer freshmen tickets to the games?
Posted on 3/20/13 at 10:54 am to StanleyB
It also states that any unsold tickets would be available for the general public.
Talk about a shitty ticket to get.

with the current system, the student allotment is based on seniority and they are usually sold out before it gets to freshman. This laws would require a specific allotment for freshmen. It's stupid.

In a lottery system, the bill is saying the allocate tickets for freshmen... Clearly whoever wrote this had a freshman son/daughter who did not get tickets

they get what's left over after the upperclassmen buy theirs. Some years that means freshman get partial packages, some years its first come first serve, and some years there is enough available for everyone to get a full season.
This stupid thing just reads like somebody's daughter didn't get tickets last fall so her daddy proposed a bill to fix it for her.

So all freshmen would be guaranteed a ticket to every game, and if there aren't enough tickets, then upperclassmen have to do without? Really? As if it weren't stupid enough that the legislature would get involved with student ticket allocation in the first place, they come up with probably the dumbest allocation plan, too?
All jurisdictions in all democratic societies get the government they deserve.

I'm sure Mr. Browns kid who got left out in the cold last fall stands to gain from Greek reserved this year.

False. Every freshman who requested tickets last year were awarded them. They start by saying to request package a or b just in case demands is too high. Seems like the daughter or son forgot to order their tickets.

someones kids are going to be freshman next year and were already bitching about tickets. like we need more people leaving at half time of games

i think it's awesome that we've solved every issue ahead of this one on the list of priorities in our state and this is all our legislature has left to deal with. It's a great day to be a Louisianian!!!

I paraphrased your post and sent to Mr. Brown.
"Mr. Brown,
I think it is fantastic that we have solved enough issues ahead of this one on the list of priorities in our great state to afford our legislature the time and resources to address critical issues such at that which you have proposed. It's a great day to be a Louisianian!
Sincerely,
A Proud LSU Alumnus and an Annoyed Louisiana Taxpayer"
