i'm a huge JT fanboy. Have all of his albums but this album sucks. I hope his part 2 is better.

Mirrors and of course Suit and Tie are legit jams, but the only others I listened to so far are Blue Ocean Floor, Pusher Love Girl and Dress On.
I liked them in a "okay, I can dig this" kind of way. It's really hard to tell on a first listen through an album sometimes. I think this one is going to be solid. JT is the shite.

John Mayer had some of the same complaints with his most recent album. Mostly it was thr mellow fans who want the same beat, same hook, and the same lyric. But these guys have to stretch themselves or they burn out. I think that is what JT is doing. He is going into unknown territory.

I'm a fan of Dont Hold the Wall and Spaceship Coupe. It's a good album but not album of the year.

Check this out. It's the video to Mirrors. The story behind the video and song is awesome. It's dedicated to his grandparents and tells the story of their life together.

Not at all. I think it's pretty weak as an album. He sounds great, but it's a very tepid album

I'm a huge JT fan. That said, this album is kinda meh. One amazing song(mirrors) and 2 good songs. The rest are not very good IMO.

Listing to Blue Ocean Floor and I kept waiting for a beat to drop in. Not the faint heartbeat that was going on.
Maybe get some live drums on that track at some point in that song would have been killer.
I do appreciate him taking some of the music and looping it backwards. That's cool.

he ventures into some 'new' territory, and he's to be commended of that, but i guess the point of putting out an album, besides selling it, is for it to be as listenable as possible. i guess he's achieved that.
i do think mixing up producers would be great, though. Timbo is Timbo, and will always do a great job, but i'd like to see JT go back to the Neptunes for a track or two, or even Max Martin if he feels like he needs an instant hit.
