I wonder if that is something Cohen told him to do which would pump up their pitchers (lower ERA) while increasing the ERA of opposing pitchers (same idea for hitters) which makes his players look better.

What do you guys think? I personally think Cohen told his stats guy to call it this way.

His pitchers get lower ERAs, and his hitters get higher BAs, whereas opponent pitchers get higher ERAs and opponent hitters get lower BAs.

But the runner is out most of the time on balls stopped by an infielder.

Depends on if the infield is in or not.

For the corners, yeah, but it's usually pretty damn difficult to gun a guy down at home from 2B or SS, which is the whole reason why they get drawn in for some situations.

If as a runner on third you hesitate to make sure ground balls get by the pitcher, then often that hesitation will allow the infielders to gun you down at home.

I'm not defending how often LSU goes on contact, but it's a legit play in many situations.

Looks like Moore got the bench for swinging 3-0.

Wow bring in the worst batter on the team. That's rubbing Moo states nose in it.

Odds are you'll be safe most of the time and you don't want to leave a runner on third stranded with a DP.

I get it but this experiment has to be close to its end. Tyler Moore is a lot better.

Are you arguing with me about what my conversation was with him? We were talking about making the IF make the play. No shite the runner will be safe if the ball gets into the OF.
