We used to play pickup with him at the metairie YMCA (this was long after he retired). I know he lived in metairie then. Not really sure about when he played for the Jazz. Wouldnt make sense really to live in BR.

I think that you are right--my understanding is that he lived in St. Tammany Parish during his final years. The original poster may be part-correct in that, as I recall, his father had a house in Baton Rouge that Pete stayed at a lot while Coach Press Maravich was battling cancer.

He lived in Covington. I saw him in Walmart buying a basketball goal for his son right after he retired.

Pete moved to Covington after he retired but he had a house in Metairie while he played for the Jazz. IIRC, he lived not far from Severn and the Lake.

He would have to be a real dick to get a ticket from me. I pulled over Archie Manning one time and he was super nice. Told him to Geaux Tigers and to have a nice day. He tried to give me a autograph and I told him, "No thanks."

A bit off the topic of OP's original thread, but when Pete played for the Jazz, his older brother, Ronnie, was a co-mgr of the Tony Moran second story restaurant on the river downtown. As my frat brother was a bartender there, we used to enjoy free drinks late in the evenings & Ronnie used to join us as the restaurant was emptying. Ronnie openly bragged bout living off Pete all those yrs, that & booking big time. This was at a time in Pete's career when he had a lot of off the court issues, and many many nites Pete would come in after a game, grab a bottle of Jack Daniels, sit at the end of the bar & knock down glass after glass after glass, all by himself. Next nite he would go out & ring up 30+ points.

He lived right by St. Paul's in Covington on Jahnke St.

He wrote of his depression while playing with the Jazz. He said he'd get on the Causeway after a game and go 120-150 in his Porsche -- the idea being that he didn't care if he got in an accident and died.

I believe his ex-wife Jackie sold the house a few years ago after the two boys finished LSU.
