Don't think I quite understood that part, but overall the ending was superb.
The after credits video just makes you wonder.

So a week or 2 ago this guy asked how free games work with graphics cards. Someone answered him and he asked if anyone wanted his free games (BI and Tomb Raider) I asked for Infinite, not actually expecting to get it considering this is the internet and people aren't that nice. Looked in my Inbox and the guy sent me a working Infinite code. Cool beans. Hope my computer can run it.

finished the game.
feels like my brain is melting, but it is making me re-evaluate every piece of dialogue I heard in the entire game.
kudos to Irrational. it's rare that I devote this much thought to a video game plot.

Dialogue in this game is amazing.

***SPOILERS****
How do you figure that made sense? In the link below, someone mentioned that they felt, with an infinite amount of different universes, one of them was bound to have a situation where all odds were demolished and heads came up ~100 consecutive times. That makes the most sense to me (though it's still a huge coincidence that Booker was in that universe). While Lutece(s) apparently had the ability to go to different universes at will, and at the right time, they didn't have the ability to affect the outcome of the flip.
****END SPOILERS******
And here's a good link for anyone that's finished the game:

The article is worth a read and it has quite a few comments from people voicing their own opinions.

quote:Well, considering the small number of times that were checked off on the chalkboard, it would be safe to assume that at that particular moment, they had not encountered the Booker who chose tails. There may have been another time where they did, but at that particular moment, they had not. I also don't believe that they had the same power that Elizabeth/Anna does.
How do you figure that made sense?
Or, maybe that was the number of Bookers who had already attempted to rescue Elizabeth and failed, showing the futility of his mission. We get to meet an Elizabeth who Booker failed at one point too.
Or maybe it was nothing more than a game of chance showing that success or failure depends on nothing more than chance. Or is it that success or failure does not depend on chance?
Or maybe it was just to indicate the similarity between these multiple instances. These different universes all have similar choices that result in the same answer, while they have other choices that do not.
Maybe I am thinking WAAAAAAY too hard about this game, but the story is quite intriguing. Plus, plotholes and loopholes are rampant in any story that involves multiple dimensions/time travel.
Although, I don't think it is fair to call them plotholes or loopholes. An infinite number of possibilities allows for an infinite number of situations which creates an infinite number of questions with an infinite number of answers.
Now I'm just having a discussion with myself.

That was an interesting read. I really liked this quote.
I'm gonna play this game again and try to pay even more attention. Also, I only ended with around 60 of the 80 voxophones. I need to find the other 20.

There’s a relevant quote early on in the game I can’t quite recall verbatim, but it’s something about being both a sinner and a saint when under water during the process of baptism. If he doesn’t ever emerge, he never has to be either.

***SPOILERS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE POST, FOR ALL YOU LOSERS WHO DON'T HAVE TIME TO FINISH A 15+ HOUR GAME IN 2 DAYS***********
You done goofed already. They only had about 10 or so heads vs zero tails on the front, but when he turned around, there was a board on his back end that had 100+ heads and zero tails.
Don't think that's possible. I don't really agree with any of your guesses, but I don't have a legit one of my own either.
And while I agree that the Luteces don't have the same abilities as Elizabeth, I think they've perfected their art.
And one thing that occurred to me hours after completing the game that was probably evident to most: in at least one of the prominent universes, Dewitt was both the leader of the Comstalk folk (obviously, being that he WAS Comstalk) AND the lead of the VOX (would have to have been brought in from another universe by Elizabeth or Lutece, since both can't exist in the same universe). Also, in case you didn't notice (I didn't), but the Lutece twins were the same person from different universes, one in which Lutece became a male, one a female. That's why they complete each other's sentences.
ETA: I also saw a legit reason for her having powers: one of the Luteces (female I think) invented the technology, but when she got her finger cut off, she developed the power. The question is, how did they develop the tech? They may have done it based on studies of the girl. I don't know it off the top of my head, but there's a word for something that exists only because of time travel: i.e I invent something based on something I find, then time travel and leave that technology in the past, then my past self finds the technology and invents the thing. There's no way to know if one of the Luteces developed the technology off of her powers, or she developed the power off of their totally independent technology, or the craziness I just posted.

Then again, we are dealing in probabilities here and in the universes they visited, the probabilities of heads occurring over tails could possibly be one of the constants.

I do agree with the idea that since this Elizabeth technically existed within two universes at the same time, her powers could come from that. The Luteces happened to live within the fabric of the multiverse due to an accident during one of their experiments, if I understood that correctly.

****SPOILERS YOU frickING countS**********
OK, we're on the same page there, but that still means that, as the Dewitt that you're playing, you happened upon a universe where that actually happened, which is highly unlikely. The game certainly begs for another play through, but I redboxed mine and have shite to do the rest of the week, so I'll be returning it and revisiting the game in a few months.
Missed the multiple dead bodies, but from one of the recordings I picked up, the scientists wanted to kill her because they didn't understand the extent of her powers, but were aware that she could frick up the status quo.
I was under the impression that they were both just very smart and had control of the technology. I didn't catch any sort of experiment accident. The only trouble that I know they faced was Comstalk killing them in one (multiple?) universe because they knew too much and had the ability to change things. Seemed that Lutece(s) from other universes that survived got shite done.

HURRY UP AND FINISH THE GAME SO I CAN STOP TYPING SPOILERS BEFORE I POST
I could have sworn that the scientists said that they could kill Elizabeth, but the problem was that they didn't have the time to start over. I can't really remember though.
I think that was the gist of it.

What is the replay value for those of you who have beat the game?
Posted on 3/28/13 at 10:27 am to RolandDeschain
I think I am close to the end at 11 hours played. I will play it again, not right away but it will get another run in the future.
Posted on 3/28/13 at 10:38 am to DoUrden
Damn I am no where close to beating it. I haven't gotten to play more than a couple of hours though and I have a bad habit of tweaking graphics and controls a lot trying to find the perfect fit for me.
