That's because there's rarely an upside to playing the other way. For instance, I went Renegade a few times throughout Mass Effect only when the person I was dealing with was really asking for it, which made that option enjoyable. Most of the "evil" decisions you face in games are simply evil for the sake of being evil decisions. There's no strategical reason for choosing it, no personal reason...just the, "Hey, I'm such an evil prick" reason, which isn't satisfying for most players.

I agree, using the Mass Effect example (it's probably the best example) there are too many easy outs for Paragon users. Some of the paragon options where you let people go or save people never came back to bite you in the arse.

This is true of Mass Effect, but consider Bioshock 1. You do gain powers from the little sisters, but I still can't find it in myself to destroy them.

Yep. And forget about other RPGs like Skyrim. The Witcher series is probably the best RPG that I can think of as far as meaningful choices, and it doesn't give you clear, "A is good, B is evil" decisions to make. That's another part of the problem, the lines are too clearly drawn and you're left with actions that are at the extremes of the spectrum and don't accurately reflect real life. The Witcher 2 is probably the only game that had me thinking, "shite, I should have, or shouldn't have, done so and so."

I wasn't thinking of that as an RPG, but you're right. You're also right about the option. I don't care how much extra ADAM I gain from it I'm not wasting a little girl.

Oh, and I always thought you were on a PC, Scruffy. At least we'll always have ME3...

I do agree with this. There are rarely games that involve the gray areas.

I had an Alienware back before they sold out, but I haven't had the money or time to build a new machine.

Kotor was another one that I felt like the choices were evil just to be a prick. In that game you are basically evil just because force lightening is bad arse.

True, if you play that game as a consular and go dark it's so easy. After you get strong enough you just overpower everyone in every battle.

Just an FYI, watch the credits all the way through.

Don't think I quite understood that part, but overall the ending was superb.

Would demolish IRL Elizabeth. So sexy in that credits video.

I think I may finish it tonight. Seems like I'm getting close to the conclusion anyways.
