I had a dream last night that I caught a 10lb speck.

Knew for sure it was a dream.

Pretty laid back article for a fish that SHATTERED the world record.

If you look up "world record spotted sea trout" the fella Gary Beach released a 31 inch fish that day, which was never weighed. He applied for the IGFA world record for length, not weight. Pretty sure the pic in the OP is fake.

pretty sure at a certain point, huge trout get a fat belly, this looks like a 35+ inch trout. not sure what to think

That's a weakfish, not a speckled trout.

That looks like one of those fish that resemble speckled trout but get much bigger. Believe they live on the west coast somewhere.

Where are "super sea trout" caught? I see hills on that shoreline (below the clouds).

The first pic looks to be legit. Nice speck in an area that looks "south". Angler is doing the old "hold it away from your body so it looks much larger in the pic" trick.

No reason for this next picture to be in the original article. Different angler, different kind of fish. Hills in the background. Combing pads, high walls are signs of an offshore boat - not a bay boat. Could be a legit pic, just not of a 21 pound speckled trout caught in Florida.
