I saw BRGetthenet was giving up beer earlier today.

What say the F&DB?

I am Methodist, so I am giving up beets. Pre-meditated.

Alcohol. I'm giving up alcohol. No matter how I say it, it sucks. I'm drunk as I type this.

I'm Methodist too. Either way, the pope is resigning, so does that have an effect this year?

I'm not giving up anything just because some fictitious nonsense tells me to. If I give up something it's because I can decide on my own without help from a moral authority.

I'm going paleo as well. I've been eating everything unhealthy in sight this week to prepare.

Gumbo posts other than in my own threads. Everyone can have it their way during Lent with no response from me. That means no good advice for some, but that's the way it goes.

Good point! Never mind.

I am seriously thinking of giving up boiled crawfish for Lent.

I haven't committed yet!

The early AM crowd gave it no appreciation but I suggest all good Catholics give up Eggs Benedict at least til the newbie is on the throne.

Rice. I expect to drop about 5-10 lbs by doing this.
