Ruffinos set to open by mid april in the old Couchon location..
Chances a BR resturant makes it in Laffy where a N.O. resturant couldn't ?

laffy people probably wont eat it simply because it's a BR establishment....

I wouldn't call Cochon a "New Orleans" restaurant food wise. ( i know the original is there)
I bet Ruffino's does better because it's more straight ahead food that would appeal to the River Ranchers.

The fact that Cochon was a "New Orleans" restaurant had nothing to do with why it didn't make it. It didn't make it because it wasn't very good.

The New Orleans location is pretty damn good.
I just never saw Lafayette going for a high class boudin when you get pretty good stuff at the gas station down the street.

shite Walk-Ons is doing gangbusters in Lafayette. Let's not act like Lafayette is the home of diners with all mega-refined palates.
Ruffino's would do well if it were located in New Orleans, just as it will when located in Lafayette.

Cochon failed because of ridiculous pricing for good, not great, food. Ruffino's will do well

Food is much better than Prejean's. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'll be sad to see it go.

Not this shite again. If you were going to Cochon for boudin you're doing it wrong.

Yeah, just look how tough Walk Ons has had it.
FYI the LFT location is by far their most successful location.

In my 4 years of college I confess that I never tried Ruffinos. I'm excited to give it a shot. First impression is that there seems to be a lot more excitement from the power circles in town.
I called Cochon's failure a week after they opened. They quite possibly built the best lay out and design elements of any restaurant in Lafayette, but their food simply fell short. I have given it countless tries against my better judgement and couldn't get into it. I went back to Lafondas for my liquid diet.

Yea, The food at Ruffino's is pretty damn average.
I feel bad for the guy that said it was the best steak ever. He really needs to try some new things.
I wish them the best, but they don't have a loyal base in Lafayette that they do in Baton Rouge. I'm pretty certain they will suffer the same fate as Cochon.

I've never had a meal at Ruffinos that really stood out, nothing bad but not great either.

I can't remember the last time I ate there besides appetizers. A lot of people go there just to drink.

Pricing is compareable to Prejean's.
