Garcia's Tacos & Grill Review

Prairieville
Tried to go last Sunday but they were closed.
I took my daughter tonight, for a taco themed joint the food was exceptionally bland. I tried the pork tacos and the steak fajita tacos. They were good sized, I only ate one of each. I was disappointed in their selection of hot sauce- nothing but Tabasco.
My daughter had a chicken quesidella and she thought the food was bland too. She said we should have gone to Mi Padres. I agree and won't be going back.

Picked up a lunch from his trailer on airline last year, I was not impressed either , was hoping it was just a bad day and I do plan to try out his new place, but does not sound very promising

The name of that place makes me want to punch a kitten.

My daughter said they won't last six months. I have to agree with her, they only had 6 customers on a Saturday evening.

Mr. Taco in BR is much better and has a great salsa bar.

How hard is it to make a tasty taco? Garcia's
And I'm not a fan of Mi Padres either. I've been there about 3 times and won't go a 4th time.
Prairieville food is lacking big-time, and that includes the highly overrated Sammy's.

I agree...The husband & wife team that owns & runs the joint are very nice, but they're overly loud and nervous acting. It's very annoying, because it's such a small place. Getting a to-go correct at Mr Taco is almost impossible because the owners have trouble understanding their own menu and relaying it to the kitchen.
Even if you're not a big eater, it'll take you about $10 to get enough food to eat because the tacos are tiny. But their salsa is one of the best in BR so I can't stop going there.

just noticed this place..was gonna come here to ask...glad i used the search function first..its crazy to here what yall are saying..it has taco in the name of the place so that should be your specialty..how do you make a bland taco..even if you use a packet of taco seasoning would have some kind of taste but not using anything??
unless i see some favorable reviews then i just may not even bother going then..

Mr. taco is ok and you are right about the owner. A bit over the top and yes, talk too much.
Best thing they have is the "wet" tamale.

I tried the hard classico tacos and Taco bell put them to shame, I was hoping it was gonna be good but I almost couldn't finish it. But I do want to try the dougie!

I went and had the dougie and it was amazing. And their jalapeñorita was pretty good too

I realize that Taco Bell's meat is probably 95% Ol' Roy, but Taco Bell is just a decent enchilada away from being a 5 star restaurant IMO...I love me some Taco Bell.

I guess I won't bother with it.
I don't know why anyone would open a restaurant in that location anyway. the whole one way in and out thing is bad enough without having to deal with the people leaving the wal-mart lot.

I thought the food and service was awesome. I got a fish taco last week and it was really good and the garcia I think it was was pretty damn good too. The owner even came and had a chat with me which I thought was nice to see he was interacting with his customers. I will definately be going back to try that dougie
