Though Alvarez has returned to the editing room to mold the film into a hard R, he expressed great pride of the initial rating via his Twitter page. “Was proud of scoring a NC-17 when submitted!” he said. “But we had to cut stuff out to get an R and get the film into theaters.” The Uruguayan director further confirmed that, despite the cuts, the R-version will still be an intense ride. “The R rated will have ALL the stuff you are seeing in the trailers,” he tweeted. “Trust me, You haven’t seen a harder R rated film than ours..”

I hope it's better than the original, because that one sucks IMO (at least it does watching it in 2012 for the first time).

Oh man, I saw it for the first time in the early 00s and it scared the shite out of me. I made sure to watch it at night by myself though.

the original one was awesome. The 2nd was better done, and basically restarts it.

Yeah...I read somewhere a few months back they were hoping for an NC-17. They plan on putting that version out on Blu-Ray/DVD.

in that case, I will wait for the nc-17 version. Why watch the R when you can wait and watch nc-17. More tits, more gore, more everything good about movies.

Horror movies are so much more fun in a crowded theater. I'll see the R version with a group and then the NC-17 version at home.
Oh, and the original Evil Dead is the greatest horror movie ever made. Period.

Well, that's just your opinion.
And it's wrong.

This is my most anticipated movie of the year. The director says he didn't use any CGI

Agreed. First saw it in high school in the late 90's. Rob Zombie had this thing Halloween week on sci-fi channel called Zombie-a-go-go where he played his favorite horror films. Movies was great. Didn't like the 2nd one, or the reboot. It was too slapstick. The first was more of a low budget gritty horror film.
Who is directing the new one?

Watching the red band trailer made me realize that I'm a big pussy and will never watch that movie
