8-5 when Gordon plays
1-1 when Gordon rests
I'm going to treat it like a second lockout season and ignore that extended preseason without Gordon.

If only the NBA recognized that...

so if you extend that to a full season (and i know this isn't how it works, but just go with me), that's about a 48-34 record, which would be in most years between the 6-8 seed. i dig

Especially when you consider that even with Gordon back, we still have about a third of the salary cap spent on jettisoned players.

And the Cornerstone isn't 100% yet. Just wait till him and Davis go on full BEAST mode

I remember when Gordon was out we had the lowest paid active roster by several million.

Funny thing is, he hasn't even shot well yet. Once he gets back to his version of 100% and Davis has more time under his belt...
Added onto that whatever offseason moves (we don't know what they'll be but we do know that it won't be a backwards move no matter what) the team makes for next year, the future is bright.

This is the best part about this season and any games we win imo. We've been able to win games against some pretty good teams, despite the fact that our star player isn't close to 100% and the rest of our team is ridiculously young and inexperienced.

This week's 247 Podcast also pointed out how the Hornets Big 3 are combining for 90 minutes a game where the championship level Big 3s are more in the 105-110 mpg range. Not exactly tanking because most of it is Gordon coming back from injury, Davis managing the rookie wall, and trying to get Austin Rivers experience, but they definitely aren't putting their best possible team out their each game. There is a lot of positive to take from what we've seen since Gordon's return.

Ryno is VERY insulted that you called Rivers the third "Big 3"
Gordon
Davis
Anderson

I wasn't calling Rivers part of the Big 3, I was calling the minutes he's getting part of not putting the best team out there. Ryno is most definitely part of the Big 3.

Good, I'll text him to calm down.

If he is, and I'm not sure about that, he won't be for too long.

That might the case, but he won't stay that way. I'm not sure he does the other things well enough besides shooting for that to stay the case.
Either Davis or Gordon when back to full health and conditioning will be, eventually.

I think it's going to be Davis by next year. You know the defense will come but his offense has been a very pleasant surprise. His ability to finish while flying towards the basket and getting mugged is kind of ridiculous. He's making shots he has no right to be making but he's made them enough that you know it's not a fluke.

He sometimes gets a little overzealous in that respect. It seems like he expects to be able to jump completely over defenders with the way he charges sometimes, but that will definitely improve with experience.

efficiency differential of +2 with gordon in the lineup.
championship teams are usually around +6.
we'll see if they can keep it up, but the future is bright. Davis gets better and they spend the lewis/carroll money wisely and happy times for the pelicans

Ryno maybe one of the best rebounding "pure shooters" in the NBA.
