Darla's Uppity You Can't Call This Chili, Chili - with pics

I know it's probably too soon to post another food pic thread, but I made this last night while trying to use up things in the fridge, except the ground turkey, which still had plenty of time.
The first time I made turkey chili, I didn't realize I was out of Rotel. I like Rotel tomatoes. A lot. But the cooking had started, so I needed to make do. I found a can of Spicy V-8 in the fridge and half a jar of salsa. I used them and they have now become part of the recipe for turkey chili.
I don't remember the reason I added mushrooms that time, but I probably had some that were heading south, so I diced them and added them to the pot.
Here's how it goes:
In addition to this, I had some ground beef (about 1/2 pound) that I needed to use:
Mushrooms, before dicing:
Yes, I cheat and use Guidry's fresh cuts, about 3/4 of a container plus a few extra cloves of garlic, sweating in olive oil:
The stuff:
Penzey's Chili 9000: Hand-mixed from: Ancho Chili Pepper, Cumin, Garlic, Cilantro, Onion, Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, Lemon Peel, Mexican Oregano, Black Pepper, Cocoa Powder, Citric Acid, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Coriander, Ginger, Natural Smoke Flavoring, Fenugreek, Cloves, Fennel, Nutmeg, White Pepper, Anise Seed, Jalapeño Pepper, Star Anise, Cardamom.

That's legal. It's like a gumbo.
Anything goes.

Never too soon to post food pics. Very nice presentation, better looking then the last chili pic thread.

I could get on board with the finished product there, I believe.
I find the mushrooms an odder addition than the V8 juice, though.

This woman takes some beautiful pics of food. That last shot of it plated looks fantastic. I'd eat that in a heart beat (despite the V8 and salsa).

Oh yeah, I meant to say feel free to mock the hell out of this sort-of-like-chili substance. However, it tastes pretty damn good.

And thank y'all for the kind words.

The mushrooms really are not integral to the taste of the chili. Sort of like the first time I added them, I had some to get rid of. Rouses had the baby portobello's 2 for 1 and I couldn't resist.

Ok a few comments.
You know you can get banned for calling someone out in a Title line - even if that someone is yourself. Sorry, I had to RA you for that. Expect ban in about an hour.
Why don't you use Piggly Wiggly Chili spice? Cause I can't get that LA-9000 all kinds of good stuff chili powder in Meridian.
Lastly - No saltine crackers?
You're one tough Lady to do chili without Saltine Crackers.
Actually looks good, even with chopped up grass clippings and diced yard fungus in it.
Oh one last comment. It's never to soon to do another post.
Edited to add:
And you can't smack yourself in the forehead after eating that and say, "I could'a had a V8!"
Edited again to add:
Are you aware you showed a little of your sideboard? Was that intentional? You flirt.

I love Guidry's. I use it a lot. I have a weak right wrist and sometimes it acts up, but when it doesn't, I'll still use it for a lot of things. I add garlic also.
Very nice pics and color. Have you used the Penzey's powder a lot? I think I may have to order that and give it a try. I like the masa in the 3 alarm packs and since I can't find small packs of masa, I'll buy the alarm packs just for the masa.
