What happened to that highly touted QB from NOLA that he snagged when he was hired?

He got hurt last year I think. He was a true frosh going in to replace the injured starter.

They need to improve the OL and stop getting their QBs hurt.

Its next to impossible to evaluate powell based on last season. The OL was probablythe worst in D1. Montana is more seasoned but i stillthink powell is more talented. He just needs a yr or two to watch. Hopefully by the time he takes over the OL will be better.

I think the current offense can work.

And I'm pretty sure Powell was not highly touted.

Think y'all need to skip over the name Montana and hand the reigns to the offense to that Berry Power: Jordy Joseph.

Please don't go by rankings. Kenneth Santa Marina went from a 4 star recruit to a 3 star recruit when he verballed to Tulane.

Spears just went from 2 to 4 stars with his LSU verbal. That should tell you everything.

Tulane has a VERY good class coming in. Clark and Smith will end up signing there once the issues are ironed out.

Riley is said to be making his decision on Sunday. It is between Ole Miss, Tulane and LSU (grey shirt offer).

Yes tulanes crappy recruiting rank and lsus superb recruiting rank are both solely based on some sort of bias. How have the big boys (bama, lsu, florida, etc) w the highly ranked classes performed on the field over the past 5 yrs? How has tulane (w its underrated classes) performed over the same time period?

That isn't the point people are trying to make. LSU, of course, will get the better players but smaller colleges don't get the star bump that bigger colleges get. It doesn't mean the players are equal, necessarily, but it does mean that a lot of these rankings aren't really rooted in anything.

Tulane? Obviously they've done terribly, but there are plenty of others who have succeeded with very low recruiting rankings.

I'm pretty sure they've had us ranked in the 100s the entire time Hud has been here but we've gone 18-8 in that time with 2 bowl victories. I'm sure Tulane would be pretty happy with that.

Yep. Those sites get it wrong just as often as they get it right when it comes to the non BCS schools.

I heard Eugene Brazeley from Carver visited Tulane this past weekend.
Thought he was Ole Miss commit?
