Yeah, NR because he's played like 15 games in 2 seasons. He'd be top 5.

Rose is ranked #5.
and you think he'd be ahead of Harden or Griffin?

I think he has the potential to be better than harden. Griffin has more problems with his overall game than Gordon does.

Ignore those spectacular dunks, and Griffin still remains one of the league's best "bucket-getters," with explosive inside moves and counters of which he makes more than 70 percent. He is an underrated ball handler and passer, which makes him even more difficult to defend. Griffin is much better as a positional defender now, and one of the top defensive rebounders in the game. He has improved his perimeter shooting, and is a reliable free throw stroke away from being a complete player in all phases. -- Thorpe

Future: Griffin has made steady improvement to his outside game. Hoopdata.com shows Griffin's accuracy from 16-23 feet improving from 33 percent as a rookie to 37 percent last season and 39 percent so far in 2012-13, which is better than average. Griffin's increasing versatility will give the Clippers more options on offense and make him more difficult to defend. -- Pelton
ETA: this thread was supposed to be about celebrating Davis and Anderson.

I haven't seen the list but I know Derrick Rose has an MVP and has carried a franchise on his back. I'm assuming Durant is number 1. Anybody other than Rose at #2 is a joke, imo.

Durant
Westbrook
Griffin
Harden
Rose
WARP is the major metric used.

It's an insider article, but from what I can tell the top 5 are..
1. Durant
2. Westbrook
3. Griffin
4. Harden
5. Rose

I'm such a westbrook hater, I think he's so overrated by so many people that makes me sick.
shoot-first point guards like westbrook will be the downfall of the team. especially with someone like durant on the team who is probably the best pure scorer in the league, but you take more shots than him and make almost 10% less. seriously?
at least AD is higher than damian lillard! all I care about right now. lol

I for one would love for Westbrook to be the downfall of my favorite team
The Thunder seem to be doing just fine with he and Durant running that show

Rose pre-injury #2 guarantee.
all because he's injured he drops, but I'd still take an injured rose over #2-4 and be patient with his recovery.

I think Thorpe might be the best "basketball guy" that espn has but I think he's wrong here.
Im fine with Durant at number 1 but I have issues with Westbrook, Harden, and Griffin being ahead of Rose.
Like i said, Rose already has an MVP, something nobody on the list can say. He carried a franchise by himself to legit success, also something nobody on that list can say.
Seriously, would anybody really trust Blake Griffin to lead their team to a championship over Rose? The guy was benched in crunch time of the playoffs last year.
James Harden shoots a bunch of FTs and has the Rockets in the exact same spot they've been in for the past decade. .500
Westbrook/Rose is closer but i give Rose the benefit of the doubt because he's been in a position that Westbrook will likely never be in. Westbrook doesn't carry the burdens that Rose does because he's never been the best player on his own team. I also like Rose's temperment and leadership abilities more than Westbrook's.

as the quoted piece above said, Griffin is just a reliable FT stroke away from being a complete player.

i was looking at PER and just realized AD is like top 7 among power forwards, and Ryno is like 10. that's pretty awesome.

Rose only got the MVP because the writers didn't want to give it to Lebron after the Decision. Basing a player's worth off an arbitrary award is risky.
And his team has been cruising without him. It's not a one man team in Chicago.
Rose is a great player, but it isn't an outrage that he is behind Westbrook, Griffin, and Harden.

By the time Rose returns, he will have missed at least a full season's worth of games. That probably knocks him down a bit, along with the Bulls rolling without him.

I agree, MVP should've been LeBron's. He got robbed, but either way I always said chicago was a playoff team without rose. with him, they were championship contenders.
