They will eventually step away from this but they kind of have to do that now, especially in the first few episodes, to get everything set up for what's to come.

If they want to make it more than just a few seasons, they're going to have to let every character "write their own chapter". I don't mind at all, just hopefully it doesn't take away from the main story line and become redundant.
Can't wait til next week.

I agree it needs to be done now. I guess I was just worried it will become too formulaic like that in the long run

I think they might. They said that there were 6 sets of prints in the house, and now we know who all 6 are

I get a feeling there will be someone dirty in the department. I'm thinking the young agent. He fits the age of the rest of the cult members and he knows a lot about Kevin Bacon's character. Perhaps he is just supposed to try to guide Kevin Bacon's character where Joe wants him to be. Probably wrong but these shows make me suspect that everyone is in on it.

Only seen the first 2 episodes and I like the show so far. Hopefully they can keep it going. I haven't attached myself to a new TV show since Breaking Bad so I need something this to deliver!

Yep. And now two of the cultists are dead.

i'm into the show but i feel like i'm waiting in anticipation of a never ending plot and i know it and leaves me already disappointed.

bingo
I started thinking the same thing about him in episode two and then in episode three when Kevin Bacon ***SPOILER***
............ left him alone to hold pressure on the detective's throat I am almost positive he is in on it. I bet it will eventually come out that he let the guy bleed out or finished him off while Bacon was fighting in the yard.

For sure. Either him or possibly the head lady. She keeps showing too much interest into Joe

What if the twist is that there isn't a single person work for him in the FBI?
seriously, after watching so many shows like this, that you always assume there is a mole in the Bureau.. that would be a twist

You took the thought directly from my head.

How do you make a show about a person obsessed with Poe and then let characters mispronounce the names of his stories?
Cask of Amontillado
Nothing wrong with the way he pronounced it.

Just watched the episode
-Still think the show is headed for a stale drug out ending eventually. Theres only so many times you can pull the "Oh shite that persons a part of it to!" Without being predictable (already is to me). Seems like Law and Order where its always the second person they talk too that has a perfect alaby somehow.
Couple "i get im supposed to suspend disbelief but come on man " moments for me
---Bacon Shoots the husband at the end. In a split seconds time the guy gets back up and attacks him. Bullets hurt, you arent getting up that quick no matter where you were shot.
In that same split second, the wife runs away to never be seen again. This is a 90 pound woman that was 3 feet away from Bacon. She would still be in sight after the 3 seconds it took to kill off the husband.
---- The guy that offed himself at the end. Hes literally hooked up to machines that gauge his heart rate and his overall "Im About To Die"-ness. Not a single doctor or nurse comes to the room when his heart starts failing?
The ending was a nice touch though. I have a feeling that crazy bitch is going to snap on that kid when he asks to call his mom about 4 more times
I think the boss lady and the young FBI guy are a part of it. She bought that chicks story way too easily and let Bacon go to that house with the young guy to "keep an eye out on him" seems like both of them are doing everything to sway Bacon where he needs to be. It almost seems too obvious at this point.

Just finished the second episode, all I have to say is what's up with the Ron Jeemy mask?

Solid episode thus far.

This show officially becomes predictable if Ice Man is one of the serial killers.
ETA: I say this because they keep hinting at it so strongly.

I think Ice Man is too obvious. Something tells me Claire, Bacon's old fling, is in on the caper.
You're telling me his wife had no idea her husband was a serial killer, especially when he was using Poe as an inspiration and Poe just happened to be the guy's area of expertise?

I also like this subplot with the serial killer who has never killed.

I think it is stupid for us to assume a guy can pretend to be someone for two years. Be logical and methodical. Plotting and planning. Then irrationally go kidnap a random girl?
The cops are beyond silly and stereotypical tv cops. Drinking coffee and not watching anything they are doing.
The wife of the serial killer is constantly yelling out stupid things like "why have you not found him!" We are supposed to believe she is logical and intelligent yet constantly screaming hysterically and saying dumb stuff.
Basically we are supposed to believe everyone on this show is above average intelligence and extremely thoughtful and logical yet constantly the writers make them do dumb stuff to move the plot along.
This is a high budget CSI or NCIS. Stupid people somewhere are saying "This show is so smart!"
