Inspired by the segment on Sportscenter today, who has has the most successful career and who has had the most influence?
If not for his slutty ways, I'd probably say Tiger.
Most successful has to be Kobe. All dem rings and He's still at the top of his game while Lewis is retiring, Tiger is struggling and Jeter is on the decline

Most successful is hard to judge but either Tiger or Kobe.
Most influence Kobe.
Most influence Kobe.

No matter how you define success Tiger is #1.

Kobe is the best now kinda by default. He's at least 3 years younger than the rest. To hold the others' decline against them is kinda dumb, Kobe will be there in a few years.
Plus he and Jeter both have 5 rings.

No he's not. He's declined noticeably in the last 3 years or so.

Yeah, let's just totally overlook that whole rapey thing that Kobe did.

Kobe is on top of his game? I don't recall seeing his team make it to even the conference finals of his sport the last two years.
Tiger hasn't won the majors, but he was hanging around the leaders in a couple of them last year.
I never pull for the guy, but Tiger is the easy answer here.

True, but he did lead the league in hits last year.

Tiger is the most successful and the most influential and it isn't even remotely close on either account.
It's a joke to say otherwise.

It's Tiger by far IMO.
Kobe second.
Jeter.
Lewis.
Tiger was the absolute best in his sport (an individual one, which makes it harder to win) for what, ten+ years? And second best wasn't even close to him. While Kobe was the best bball player for a while, Tiger may be the best golfer to ever play in history and dominated his sport like no other (except maybe Jordan, Federer?).

I'm a huge Kobe fan.....but the answer to both is Tiger. No, it's not even close. Tiger and Kobe have their similarities. Both are looked at as arguably #2's at their position and have more wins needed to be in the discussion as possibly #1's. If bball was not a "team" sport (insert ballhog comment here), then this could be a different conversation.
But, let's be honest here. Tiger TRANSFORMED the whole sport. Kobe did not. Kobe is a wildly polarizing figure (Tiger has moved toward this as well), but he's done nothing on the scale of improving the sport like Tiger has.

I'd say Jeter has been the most successful. He plays the statistically hardest sport and he's a career .313 hitter with over 3,000 hits. He's also done all this while playing in arguably the hardest sports city.
Tiger has has had the most influence because golf courses changed their design, making them longer, because of him.
