Can't do gun control by Executive Order

I'm having a hard time figuring out how they (MSM) made the fricking jump from lunatic assholes shooting kids, and their fricked up degenerate parents, to guns and gun control so quickly. Those kids haven't been in their graves one month yet, but we're talking about banning certain types of guns, most of which haven't been proven to have been used in the most recent shooting.
This one has me puzzled.

Many here said it couldn't happen.
I wasn't one of them. Manufacturers won't catch up before the ban. When it hits, there will be orders unfilled.

How could a human being in his or her right mind not understand that the definition of a criminal will always be an individual who breaks laws? None of these proposals could have prevented the shooting in CT.
1. There was no private sale. The mother was murdered for her weapons. This was illegal in the first place.
2. There is still debate of whether or not the shooter used an AR or Glock and Sig handguns.
3. CT already has some of the worst gun laws in the country. Why do most mass shootings happen in areas with strict gun control? How can they fail to see this correlation?
4. There us already a round limit on magazines in CT.
5. Columbine happened during the AWB. Bad people do bad things. It is impossible to legislate away insanity.
6. Do I need to say more?
I really hope America wises up. Or at the very least, I hope any gun control measures passed stay in the red states.

I've got a 742 woodsmaster in 30-06, I'm going to snag a 10 round mag for it and call it a day
24" barrel, it'll be a helluva tactical weapon

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Part of this will be a ban on private transfers. If an individual wants to sell a gun to another individual, he/she will have to go through an FFL to do the background check. That gun would also be logged into some kind of database.

I'm slowly losing hope. Just trying to stay positive...

Look at the bigger picture. The government is not banning guns to eliminate mass shootings...

Seriously, a single sentence about considering executive action on mental health and updating ATF programs equals an Executive Order banning guns?
This issue is already losing steam and gun prices have already began falling in the past 2 weeks. Bottom line, nothing of any consequence is coming.
History shows very few Presidents have used an Executive Order. Of those, at least two have been overturned by the Supreme Court (a decidedly Conservative institution currently). Even if a law is passed requiring additional programs you can be sure the Republican majority House won't approve the funding to make it happen.
Don't believe me? Check out what's happened to Feinstein's positive train control Bill.
There are several moderates and even some on the Left that won't support a gun ban. I don't see national legislation happening. State or city mandates? This may be possible..

I hope so Wiltz.
I'm about 75% sure nothing will happen but the more crap I read the more I feel that % will decrease.

I've got a 742 Woodsmaster in .308 with 24" barrel. Beautiful rifle. And yes, it would be a helluva tactical weapon

Hey -- I have a 742 in .308.
For the right price, I might part with it. Then you'd have a really valuable pair of guns.

adding myself into the Remmy 742 club...and there was a guy that made the "hi-cap" mags for them a few years ago...don't know if he's still out there
(going to google right now)
eta: Brownells has them...maybe was "higher-cap" magazines...

Slickback has a 10 round so I know someone makes them.

I have said since day one he does this through EO. It's coming our only hope is the USSC shooting it down as an over reach.

my old man swears there is a guy somewhere in "the mountains" that builds 20 or 30 round mags for the remmy autoloaders...maybe he's wrong, but that ain't real often. even if he was, I wouldn't tell him...
