Expectations Are Out Of Line

JA himself (CLM's boss) said recently that they define success as "being in the hunt" every year.
Unfortunately, for us that don't live in La La Land and expect better production from a +$4M a year salary, we are way out of line with the guy who makes the decisions and seems to be fine with just being "close."
I'm sure that attitude would change as revenue drops off, but only the fans can speak with their money. That is the only thing you can do about it.

I decided to not go to Dallas nor any other games anymore. If we all did that, changes would be made but it won't happen

I will not be going to the LSU TCU as I had planned.
Just sayin'.
Just sayin'.

Being in the hunt is all you can ask for.
shite, Alabama has only been "in the hunt" over the last two years... They've relied on other teams' misfortune to get in the title game.
You can't expect perfection every year.

Douboy- that fan money worked to get rid of Smokes azz. The fans can speak volumes to get rid of Miles azz.

With the talent level at LSU right now, we need a better OC--period.

I only want to be in the hunt each year, but I ACTUALLY want us to be in the hunt. After watching the mediocre performances we had in the early part of the season I knew once we hit SEC play things would likely get ugly.
I have pretty much the same expectations for next year.

IT'S NOT ABOUT WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Our coach now makes a small fortune to be here. This university has a HUGE built in advantage when it comes to recruiting some of the nation's best talent. The expectations I have for this team is that the one aspect of the game that my head coach has a direct hand in should be our best unit and not our biggest negative. I'd like this coach to take the reins of this offense over and run the damn thing himself, but that will never happen because then we would see what the hell has been consistently wrong for 4 years.

You realize LSU was one two minute drill and a win over Georgia in the SECCG away from playing Notre Dame for the title, right?
It feels like we missed it by a lot but we really didn't.
Obviously, I'm not satisfied with the season but we were very close to things going much differently.

Can we at least expect to see a product on the field worthy of $4M per year and not the Keystone Cops? Nobody is asking for perfection, but apparently some of you are happy with an offense that looks like they have no clue.

Pretty much. Don't know how anyone can argue against this.

I haven't skipped watching a game in years -- I know how close the team was. You're assuming LSU could beat a Georgia team that was just as close, if not closer, to beating Alabama as LSU was. My initial post was meant to express how disheartened I've become with this team. I'll always love LSU and will cheer them on through every win and loss, but it's hard watching the team lose games in the manner that they lost to Florida or Clemson.

Truth.
There was a bit of a drop off statistically after the bama game which was likely a result of the physical nature of hte bama game and/or a mental letdown of losing the team goal for the season.
Minter stepped up to become the D leader after Mathieu's demise.
Who was the leader on O this year. Did we have one?

Expectations are absolutely out of line. Too many fans lose sight of the role that intangibles play in the game. The odds of getting all 11 players on the field to execute flawlessly every play or even most plays is obscene. That's why teams strive to be in the hunt every year. With a high level of success, any team can ride intangibles to a championship. But it is a rare occurrence for any team to repeat that level of success.
If any of you rantards knew what the frick y'all are talking about to the extent that you pretend to, our Pickems page would look far more impressive than the modest percentages of success which actually show up. Anyone notice that no one repeats on Pickems? How successful are the most successful armchair rantards? If they won college games at the rate their "knowledge" results in picking who wins, they would still be outmatched by Les Miles.
