than Rantards whine about Les Miles?

I don't really follow CFB and don't know much about other fan bases. Is what happens on the Rant typical?

Not many successful coaches are that superficially goofy, makes it easier to pick on him when they disappoint.

The amount of butt hurt, on New Year's Eve mind you, over a meaningless bowl game loss...it's baffling.

Probably, if this were a board full of a different fan base it would be different

Absolutely not, but I'll ask you this:

Has any coach cost his players more in the last year than Miles? Awful 1/9 gameplan and coaching leads to the most embarrassing loss possible. He cost the team a win against Bama again this year, plus a second straight disappointing bowl performance.

Are you surprised that LSU fans are mad that he has cost the team TWO potential national titles?

There aren't exactly a lot of coaches like Les Miles who are both 1) highly successful and 2) mind blowing and frustrating to watch coach

I'm not saying that there's a lot of (realistic) options better than him, but the fans bitch because we have been so close both years. It's pretty hard to argue that the last two Bama games and last night's game are anything other than the staff's fault.

No, the standard in any loss seems to be blaming Miles and the referees.

I will say however that I've never seen a fan base who defends and refuses to blame poor performance from the players with a few exceptions. It's always poor coaching, refs etc.

This even goes on to the NFL level. It's never the former LSU players fault. Drafted to the wrong team, poor coaching being played out of position etc.

Loyalty I suppose.

Like someone said on the rant awhile back
"the perfect season for lsu fans would be for them to go undefeated, win the national championship, then fire their head coach."

I like Miles a lot as a person and GM. That said, as a Niners fan, I think Jim Harbaugh is a prick... but the guy is a pro and has people around him who just work harder than the opposing staff virtually every week. I wish Miles had a little of that in him; or at least understood his limitations and hired an OC with those capabilities.
