I won't go on Thursday-Saturday at all. Usually go early Sunday morning or right after work on Monday or Tuesday if I do go.
I also usually only go to see a movie when they are about to end their run at the theater.
These 2 combos at Grand Cinema on Jones Creek usually make for good movie experience. Usually no more than yourself and 2-3 others at most.

No movies anymore for me after truck burglarized twice while at the AMC 24 in Willowbrook, Houston.Screw the movie theaters that don't provide security in their lots and screw the punks and scum that do the deed.My only regret is that I didn't catch the turds in the act.

I used to go to the movies all the time. sometimes a couple times a week. but with the prices being what they are, it's easier to just stay at home and buy the movies on demand, or bluray.
Between that and the 103in screen in my cave, there really isn't a point to go unless it's something like The Hobbit, that I have to see in the theaters

Last movie I saw in theaters was Avengers....
I have no desire to go to theaters, especially when movie is just released too many people. I would go once a movie I wanna see has been out awhile and then go during day

Now, the only time I go to see a movie is at Canal Place. I can relax, get assigned seating so I don't have to get there early, don't have to be there with riff raff and teenagers ruining the movie, and can have cocktail or two.
there's a theater about 3 miles from my house that everyone avoids like the plague.
i love it because they are NEVER sold out and its so easy to grab a movie & get popcorn.
of course i'm sure its not going to be in business much longer...

when i was still in school, i'd go all the time for the early shows. i just don't have the time or desire to do it anymore, especially since the evening is the only viewing i could catch these days.
the last two i've seen in the theatre were tdkr & true grit.

I rarely go anymore either, unless it's something I have to see on the big screen. It's the crowds that put me off nowadays. People in general are just assholes now. No manners, courtesy etc.
The GF and I went to see Dark Shadows late in it's run on a weeknight. The theater probably had 10 people in it. We chose to sit in back and got comfy with our feet up on the seats in front of us. Guess what happens? An older couple with their 3 grandchildren who range in age from 4 to 9 probably come and sit smack down right in front of us. I wanted to leave my feet on the seat, but I'm not assholish enough I guess. In a freaking empty theater, they have to come sit in front of me and my gf.
They then proceed to pull a foot long Subway sandwich out of the woman's purse and cut it up into sections for each of them. Snuck in the drink too. The kids were squirming, the paper wrapper of the sandwich was making noise, the little kid kept dropping the coke bottle on the floor, the 2 oldest were fighting with each other. I wanted to get the hell up and leave and just yell at them!

Exactly. In a crowded theater I get it. But when the place is practically empty why would someone choose to sit right in front or right next to me?
I would never do that to someone else. Its nice to have some personal space at the movies. Its why I purposely wait until a movie has been out for a while before going to see it.
Like I said, people are assholes now, more than ever.

I don't have a problem with getting anxious or restless, but I have to piss so bad sometimes I'm afraid I'm gonna piss in my pants. If a movie is 3 hours long, they need to have a 10 minute intermission. Whatever happened to those, anyway?

It's a struggle for me, but it has nothing to do with me not wanting to go. There are several factors why I rarely get to go to the movies.
1. closest movie theater is 25 minutes away with no traffic (I live in Baton Rouge so there's ALWAYS traffic).
2. I don't have time to go. During the summer, I worked full time with a long commute. During the fall, I was a full time engineering student, a member of the tiger band, and had (and still does) a gf. That doesn't leave a lot of times to travel to a theater.
3. My friends are broke. Many of my friends simply can't afford (even when they have the desire and time) to go to a movie. They work minimum wage jobs while going to school with long commutes.
4. My gf doesn't like seeing movies in the theater. She has a corn allergy and the constant smell of popcorn can make her nauseous. She also finds movie theaters kinda gross. She also is in a major that eats up all of her free time with working on projects. Plus, she works or volunteers with local theater productions. In the nearly 2 years we've been dating, we've gone to only 1 or 2 movies in the theater (the only one I can remember being "The Muppets"). We watch a lot of movies on DVD though.

Once I got old enough to go to bars and screwed up enough to go to them regularly, going to the movies has never again entered my mind as an acceptable way to spend a couple hours.
Now if I've got a couple down hours, I'll find something to work on or catch a game that I DVR'd.

I got to the theater 15 mins early once, it began to fill up... I was on the aisle with one seat open to my right... plenty of seats in "the pit"
Couple comes in late and asks me to move, so they can sit right there together... told him no and he acted like he wanted to go to knuckle city...
I got there early to pick where I wanted to sit, couldnt believe his nerve..

Anyone else get this feeling- almost suddenly at some point in their life?
Yep. And it's a little disconcerting.
I don't get restless. But I get annoyed with the bullshite at the theater these days. My biggest movie theater peeves these days:
- People who bring toddlers/babies to R rated movies. And then get all indignant when asked to take their crying baby outside of the theater. And before I get some shite over this one, my own parents either got a babysitter or made the sacrifice or not going if it came to that. Or they went to a kid friendly movie.
- People who want to get on their bright arse phones mid-movie.
- People who talk through the whole movie, holler comments at the movie, etc. Midnight showings of Rocky Horror being the exception.
- Opening weekend crowds.
- Concession prices.
Ticket prices don't bother me too much. I'll gladly pay $10-$15 for a movie that I really want to see. But if I'm paying that I don't want to have to put up with all the other bullshite.
