He's been good historically, but he wasn't last year. I've never really been a fan of his though, you are right.

Hamilton has some of the best raw power in the game. He'll hit 30+ and drive in 100 easily barring serious injury. People are overblowing the CA/relapse thing

I'm not even thinking about relapse stuff. I'm just looking at the park. Ballpark at Arlington is a mashfest. It's one of the most hitter friendly parks in the game.

Angel Stadium is a pitcher's park. I know JHam has godly power, but I'm just thinking that if Pujols is moving from a pretty neutral park to it and his numbers sink (and he's better than Hamilton), then what's going to happen to Hamilton?

I'm not saying Hamilton is gonna fall off a cliff and die, either. He'll still hit around 30 bombs and be a productive and good hitter.

I just don't think this move makes the Angels some type of elite team that they weren't last year. Offense was never really the problem, IMO.

a single team gave his career a shot, and it worked out for a while. he is a delusional human being. his BA hinged on whether he was dipping or not. would you, as a GM, drop 25 million/year on someone like that? who has vision problems due to abusing caffeine? I think his evangelical Christian thing is a ploy. I guess it's just hard for me to understand sometimes that these guys are professionals and money is the only factor. that's why I like high school/college sports better

I'm not really a Wilson guy either, but the proof is in his numbers. Solid #2 who is never hurt. I still think they deal for another SP.

Did you see the stat I posted on Hamilton? Average HR distance of 415 last season.

Pujols just flat out slumped. It's not like he was popping out to the warning track instead of hitting HRs.

I see what you're saying though. People were all over Boston's nuts last season going in. Mike Socisia will be key.

Having a full season of Trout plus Pujols being acclimated to AL will be huge for Angels as well. I don't know if Weaver can perform at such a high level again but I doubt CJ slumps like he did over the second half again.

Angels have a strong line up with a legit 1/2 this year and after last years miss I think they come in more focused.

Very well could. If they add another good one, I'll be more inclined to like them.

I don't think the Rangers are dead to rights... yet. If they could still pull in Swisher/LaRoche/Anibal Sanchez or Dickey, they'll be pretty competitive if their young guys are as good as everyone seems to think they are.

The A's, who knows?

Should be a fun division, again.

No. If JD gives up young players for a 38 year old pitcher, that would be the definition of a horrible overreaction.

Think at 39 he had 40 starts and threw 285 innings...
