I believe Hamilton has told the Rangers he's going to allow them match/beat any offer he receives... something like that. After losing out on Grienke and the probability of them landing Upton miniscule, it's unlikely they'd let Hamilton leave Texas... especially to the Angels.

Angels may be just as desperate with Dodgers owning the headlines in LA.

Yea it just wouldn't be good PR for him to go to the Angels; he'd lose almost all of his Rangers fan base. That being said, if the money's right I'm sure he'd go

According to the ESPN affiliate in Dallas, it's a done deal.

I'm not too sad he's left the Rangers. Good for both parties.

He will be on the DL with Pujols for many years to come. The Rangers seem to know how to evaluate players properly in this regard.

Au revoir.

Great post on Twitter:

@FutureGM: Torii Hunter 2012 rWar: 5.5. Josh Hamilton 2012 rWAR: 3.4. The Angels are about to get almost half the production at almost double the cost.

The Angels outfield had no depth, while Hamilton was replaced with David Murphy or Craig Gentry most of the time when he was out. Kind of a dumb stat there

5 year deal official. These are going to be interesting years in the West.

So either way the Rangers would get hosed.

Let him leave and you have to deal with him as a division rival. Keep him and you deal with him as a drama queen.

5 years/$125 million. Glad the Rangers are not resigning him. Too much money for a fragile guy who is always hurt.

Rangers will still finish with a better record than them again anyway.

I mean I don't think he cares a whole ton but I'm sure he'd rather keep his fans
