Who here has legitimately caught a fish with just their bare hands?

kinda spinoff from the other thread.
I've done it once. My family was staying in a cabin along the Salmon River in Idaho. My dad and brother were trout fishing, and since we only had 2 rods, and I was the youngest, I had to watch like a bitch. Anyways, I was catching garter snakes next to the river when I saw a rainbow trout just sitting in the shallows. I snuck up to it, gently placed my hands behind it, and slowly grabbed it. I don't think my dad ever really believed me when I showed the fish. He thought I stole it from my brother. Bastard.
anwyays, I know csb

I have tried with the gar fish at the house, but I can't do it. They are to slick, strong. I do like to poke them in the top of the head with my finger from time to time...

I have done it. We found some catfish that were in some hollow stumps when we were younger and proceeded to catch a few. The top of the stumps were under the water but not deep. We would put our hands in and pin them to the side of the stump. Not sure why they were in the stumps that day.

I canoe-camped the Buffalo River with my wife a few years ago for 5 days. Didn't catch one fish, until the last day.
In a rock bed, next to some train tracks, I saw a small puddle with a tiny fish swimming around.. I caught him.
Then I released him in the river.

Surf fishing on Free Mason I slapped at a speckled trout swimming close to me and got lucky and underneath it and he sailed onto the beach. Pure luck but kinda cool.

When I was a kid, I tamed up the bream in my parents pond by feeding them old bread from the Hostess bakery store. I could hold my hand under the water and they would eat from my hand. I was even able to catch them with my hand and pick them up out of the water without having them freak out. Now, when a 5lb+ plus bass would come in and take out a few bream standing in line, it would give you a heart attack.
I know that ain't "real".

I caught a 40 pound logger head with my hands in the water. Does that count?

Yeah, he just though he had found a safe place to hide from bigger fish.

I've caught a couple hundred spotted cat with my bare hands.
I've also caught a couple hummingbirds.

This was way before go pros. To be honest it was pretty cool out and I was walking on a beaver damn and there he was just chilling right there in the shallow water. I reached in a picked him up by the tail. He was to cold to fight back. :csb:

Did you put him in some warm liquid, something like soup, to heat him up?

I've had hummingbird feeders everywhere I've lived my entire life. Where I live now must be in the middle of a major flyway, because a couple days each year I'll have 100-200 hummingbirds fighting for a couple spots on the 3 or 4 feeders I have. One day we were drinking beer and watching the feeding frenzy when I thought I could catch one. My brother bet me $30. I slipped up to the feeder and of course all of them spooked. I stood there as still as possible and put my pointer finger up next to the feeding hole. They came back, one sat on my finger. I trapped his feet between my pointer and middle finger, thus catching the bird. Done it several times since. No joke. My Mother has some pictures of it somewhere I'll try to dredge up.

Once grabbed a mullet out of the water while on a pier in Mississippi. I was joking around with a couple people I was with and told them I would grab one of those suckers out. I don't know if the fish or I was more suprised.
