i'm surprised smaller states like miss. has two big state rivals and lousiana really has no state rival. it would be interesting to see if they could be contenders if louisiana tech or some other school in state competing with them for state recruits.

We're so amazing no other state school can compare. Tulane used to be a rival until they gave up football (sorry forgot they still have a team)

We get it. You are both annoying and persistent. Congrats.

LSU destroyed their instate rival Tulane

There are no other big competitors in this state because we are so good.

no other sec schools like alabama, florida, georiga have to compete against other state powerhouses for recruits, you guys have nobody to compete against and yet those other schools beat you in football. clemson for example recruits better than sc outside of the state but they beat us in the state so it does dilute both of our talent pools but you guys are basically getting every good recruit in louisiana. i wish we had that kind of problem LOL

LSU used to have one, but they quit.

I'm sure you wish you had our trophy case too.

Let's take this slow so you can understand. Think Ohio only one major university in the state. All other universities pale in comparison to the big dog.

it just seems like clemson is recruiting against sc, georgia, georgia tech, the nc schools, while you guys basically getting 90 percent of your state high school players without having to do much. i don't think your average stud in louisian even looks at going anywhere else outside of the state, maybe arkansas but that seems a stretch.

When LSU sees competition we squish it like a bug. It doesn't matter if its some whiney arse ACC team or in state universities.

Saban still has contacts in state. We have lost a few recruits to the Gumps but not that many.

South Carolina is really similar to Louisiana in that way.
All Louisiana has is LSU with a bunch of smaller in-state schools and South Carolina has the Gamecocks and then a bunch of nobodies

There was at first. In the 30's and 40's Tulane was the dominant football team in Louisiana. They were even in the SEC at one time.

Clemson is recruiting agsinst Clemson.
Every recruit in the nation knows that Clemson threatens and fails every season. You gave nkemdiche and his entire team package deals and loads of cash and he didn't want to stick around.
ETA: Hell, Clemsoning is an urban dictionary entry.

It appears to me that USCe doesn't have one either.

it is amazing how sec schools seem real proud of sc for beating clemson 4 years in a row. clemson sucks, u say, but beating us shows sc has arrived.
i would say it would be differnet living in a state with no true state rival game. i think that is one thing that makes sc cool, smaller state with two rivals and almost everybody goes for one or the other.

That describes most states.

At first the SEC had two teams in La., Miss., Ala., and Tenn. Now I don't think they would consider putting two teams in one state.

Tulane was one hell of a big rivalry when they were in the SEC. Tulane took GT exist as a way out of the SEC due to grade requirements. Both schools went independent, then joined the Metro Conference, and GT was invited to the ACC. Whoever convinced Tulane to leave the SEC needs to rot in his grave. Tulane isn't revelent in any college sport.
