New Jersey puts out a ton of talent and Rutgers is the only school with team in a BCS conference I believe. And they haven't done much in their history.

Why don't Ohio, Nebraska, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Arkansas, Missouri, or Colorado have one?

That's the thing...
There are plenty of smaller colleges, with second rate programs who always aspire to rivalry with the Big School.
They develop oversize expectations, peculiar, attention- grabbing "traditions" and go out to tilt at windmills.
Inevitably, they fail and embarrass themselves ( and their state) in the process. Sometimes they cheat to try to get to the next level.
Tulane and Clemson are good examples.

Tulane used to be in the Sec when I went to Lsu, but got tired of getting their arse kicked. Seriously do they still play football?

Louisiana has too many colleges and universities as it is.
Sadly, Louisiana is tied for fifth place nationally in lowest high school graduation rates, yet for some reason we fund over 30 university and college campuses.
If ever there was a sign of the out of control nature of the business of public education, it is this. Does a state with a high school graduation rate that is less than 70% really need to fund 30+ colleges and universities? Not unless you need them for the education jobs that they create and the federal funding that it generates.

Louisiana Tech was a top 20 ranked team this year. How many other states have two teams ranked in the top 20? Louisiana Tech would beat Ole Miss, Miss st., Auburn, Clemson, and most other secondary schools in other states, so GFY?

Two words...SEC.
Tulane and LSU got the charter invites in the 30ies and the others didn't.
30 or 40 yrs later, Tulane gave up their membership and no other Louisiana school was offered their spot.
That's bout it....pretty simple if you think bout it.

LSU schedules with the PAC 12 and BIG 12. It is better for our strength of schedule. LOOK IT UP!

Wrong! LSU got the dog snot beat out of them by Va. Tech in the 90's. So it should be 1-1 for Va Tech and 19-2 vs ABC (Atlantic Basketball Conference) also WHAT ABOUT FSU?
