I mean there might be half-truths in what bama pay sites are saying... but people won't be able to process that... for example, if Smart does not come to Auburn, then people will just believe that Pat Dye had 'too much influence' etc... when it reality, that's probably not what's happened.
Bama insiders have proven over the last two years they don't know crap about Auburn... but they'll all have some connects to Smart... which means they'll get the bama-spin side of the story.

The only problem with Malzahn that irks me is the whole Michael Dyer situation. We obviously need someone who is a hardass to come in and kick some arse in the locker room. Well, Chizik let Dyer do whatever the frick he wanted until he finally had enough, and booted him off the team. And here comes Gus giving him yet another chance. And if Trooper and Luper are kept around, so is the coddling nature of the athletes. Yes, the offense would improve but I don't think the mentally tough and disciplined nature would.

I fully agree. Hell, I was saying the same thing on a different thread. Gus can't handle his woman. Much less our guys.

Uhhh, what is the problem? Dye still doesn't run shite. He has yapped about wanting Smart for a while now. The committee looked at Smart and decided he was worthy of an interview.
If Dye ran shite, he would have hired him already. Since Dye doesn't run anything, Smart has not been hired.

Bama fans think Dye runs the whole show. Auburn fans swear he has no power. It's really somewhere in the middle, though. If, like you say, Dye was the reason Smart got an interview, you can't say he has no control over anything.
